Tommy Hawkins Film Collection

Tommy Hawkins Film Collection

2 жыл бұрын

FUNDRAISER: www.gofundme.com/f/filmfundra... Please help us to continue transferring these rare 16mm film reels that cost us anywhere from $275 to $350 per reel depending on the size of the film reel. We use Yale Video and Transfer in Valencia, CA to transfer our footage. Ironically, Yale Video is that same company that shot this footage over 5-decades ago. With nearly 1000 16mm film reels in our collection from 1969 to 1973, it's imperative that we get as much financial help as possible to continue posting newly transferred content on the Tommy Hawkins KZfaq channel.
Any amount donated would be greatly appreciated! We thank you in advance for your support!

What a war the first fight truly was, two great warriors going at it same with the 3rd fight they were a bit slower knew each other's plans yet it still was two great warriors. Much respect to both Smoke and Ali. RIP, you both certainly earned it.

What I LOVE about Ali is that he KNEW exactly how Joe would come out smoking. He knew that fighters would have 2 great rounds with Joe and tire out from body shots and the relentless pressure. Hearing this helps you understand why Ali was also courageous during that fight. Wearing down but still managing to throw punches till they landed on Joe's bobbing and weaving head. Ali just didn't know Frazier would land his left hook SO much. They even surprised me when I watched it. I'm like "Oh, he good good" 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Unfortunately, Ali had much trouble evading an opponent's left hook throughout his career and Frazier had the greatest left hook of them all..

Amazing how times change. Probably the biggest heavyweight fight up until that point, and that press conference looks like it was filmed in Archie Bunker's dining room.

I watched the fight 3 different times. If it was scored round by round I think Ali won. One ref had it 11 to 4 for Frazier. That 11th round was worse than the knockdown. Frazier took a lot of shots to get inside. Spent a month in the hospital

I may have a split personality//I see it 2 ways//since joe Frazier was champion at the time 🎯 Ali lost cuz he didn't TAKE the title/joe dominated the championship round to a close bout . now to look deep//Ali never Lost his title in the ring 💯 nobody TOOK it from him so Ali won that bout on rounds points boxing 🥊

Frazier was a champion too and fought to prove he deserved to be considered one. Ali was the better , more talented boxer, but his 3-1/2 year suspension had affected his legs, timing and overall condition, and he simply needed more time to recover them before he fought Frazier. However, he didnt give himself the added time he needed and lost because of it. It proved he had shortcomings too and could be beaten.

You can see Ali would have lost to Frazier even at his best form from the 1960s. He didn't respect Frazier as a fighter as much as he should have. Ali had the mind of a child. Everything to him was visual but he see past the superficial. He paid to learn as he found out just how skilled Joe was. Frazier was quicker and more elusive than Ali could have imagined. The punches Ali did land early only made Frazier beat him even worse. He walked through Ali. FOTC Frazier probably beat all but 2 or 3 heavyweights in boxing history.

Ali was too confident before the first fight with Joe Frazier. That's why he was surprised by that left hook and lost the fight with Frazier by decision. Then, Ali trained better and won the rematch fights.

Underrated and overrated. The first fight with Ali took more out of both men than most people realize but more so Frazier. In his prime he’dbe a hard night for anyone who would couldn’t manage knock him out. His prime was extremely short, though.

@@therealc.t.7085 One of Joe's bad points was with his boxing style was he relayed more so on his aggressiveness with just pushing forward taking constant punches which is not a smart way to box.

@@active.7universal How do you know it wasn't Muhammad core spirit to feel and say the things that he felt and said about white people?. Had Muhammad being for and speaking integration with Caucasians, saying things such as race or color doesnt matter, we are all the same, join the draft, had he not joined with The Most Honorable Messenger Elijah Muhammad and The Nation Of Islam, been the kind of boxing champion that Caucasians wanted him to be, Ali would have been the golden boy and the apple of the eyes of Caucasians.
