Karen Dobrowolski~ God was doing you a great kindness by removing you from that college & that church. I've had many TOXIC people in my life that our LORD removed me from in drastic ways, because I didn't see what HARM they were doing to me. I've always tended to look at people in the best light, not using God-given discernment to open my eyes to their selfish motives. Now, I'm much more cautious about whom I choose to associate with, because they DO have an influence. Scripture says that bad company corrupts good morals. I know this to be TRUE! My siblings and I fall on the upper end of the Millennial range (depending on who you ask) and we are all convinced it is the end times . However, no one else seems interested. We were teens when the Y2K hype came along and it became almost 'wrong' to talk about the end times. It's the first time I heard about amillenialism and preterism. It sounded so wrong to me! But I did fall for the "there is no rapture" theory and then made myself forget about the endtimes until a strange, vision-like dream "woke" me up over a decade later. Even then, it was only 2 years ago when my sibling mentioning they thought the end times were coming and I knew they are against sensationalism of any kind so that caught my attention. It also took another year of prayer and research to come back to the pre-tribulation rapture idea. And there are so many good, true things to talk about in the Bible that prophecy kind of falls to the wayside. Every once in awhile, someone in our church will say something and you realize they think we're in the season as well but it's like it's everyone's "dirty little secret". I wish we could have gone to the Abbortsford conference but travel is just not possible for us.

Kim P, well somehow it seems God blessed me about the conference. I heard about it through Amir's website because I am subscribed to his site. However, the real blessing was that it was only a half an hour from where I live. I immediately asked my daughter to come with me. I would have paid for her husband, too, but he had to work. I would have moved heaven and earth to get there. It is very reassuring to hear of millennials who are interested in eschatology. I feel so sorry for most of them. I am convinced that Bible Prophecy makes all the difference. Joel 2:28 ~ 'And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions.' Maybe your vision was a fulfillment of this prophesy. I hate sensationalism, too. Look at the mess that foolishness about Sept. 23 created. It undermines Christianity. I am well aware that Romans 1:22 is directed at non-believers. I study the Bible daily. All of Romans chapter 1 is quite an essay on sin and effects of it. I know Amir is so encouraged when he sees millennials coming to conferences. I got to meet him. He is so humble and kind. He has a bit of a rock star status online, so it was nice to see that is not influencing him. I got to meet Dr. Andy Woods who I follow closely, too. I love Eric Barger's contending for the faith messages. I would strongly encourage you to look up some of Bill Koenig's uploads. He is a Christian author who staunchly defends Israel. He has a very unique perspective as a White House Correspondent since 2001. He knows and travels with the President and His team everywhere. God bless you greatly and stand strong for the word without compromising.

Hi BlueSky! I just want to add here that God DID divorce Israel at one time! Their sin and wickedness was so very great that He actually divorced them. However, the book of Hosea is an allegory of that scenario. Hosea was commanded to marry a prostitute and have children by her. He eventually divorced her and she went into slavery, BUT he was commanded to bring her back and he bought her from slavery and loved her. God did the same thing. He bought Israel (and everybody else who would just believe in Him) back w/Christ's Blood. Some people make the dire mistake of stopping at the point where God divorced Israel. They (the replacement theory people) fail to read the rest of the story! The church can NEVER, EVER replace Israel!!! Israel is God the Father's wife; we as Christians, are Christ's bride. About the pre-trib rapture, I'm just not convinced about that at all. I just tell people that I believe in the "Pan Theory" meaning that it will all pan out in the end, LOL. Anyway, to be more serious, Christ did say that "no man knows the day nor the hour, not even the Son or the angels, but only the Father." They use a verse that says "we're not appointed to wrath," but I think that is saying that we're not appointed to eternal wrath is is VERY true. Yes, the rapture IS our hope, but I think there is just way too much emphasis on that now and not on Christ Himself. Let's focus on Christ and let God handle the details.

Sonshine Grace, I know all about the history of Israel and am well aware of what the book of Hosea is about. The Abrahamic Covenant is an unconditional and everlasting covenant even though Israel lost it. That is what the tribulation (Jacob's Trouble) is mostly about. I study the scriptures daily and I love them; both the OT and the NT. I was not even talking about the rapture. I am not sure what makes you think I am not all about Christ. You have no clue who I am. I happen to believe that we should know why we believe what we believe. Hypothetical is not what the Bible is about. God bless.

Seth Moore Some messianic Christians do shun Christmas and Easter, such as Michael Rood. As a child, Christmas was always about Jesus. I was never told about Santa Claus. Back then we attended church events twice a week, Bible camp in the summer and more. You bring up a good point about the secularization of congregations. Our society is severely secularized, so it doesn't take much for a church to appear "spiritual". Fog machine and all!

Seth Moore I didn't know that about yoga , I don't chant I relax & stretch . I am baptist , I believe every plant was put here for us to use but not abuse , you can abuse anything ! The main thing is to know where your going when you die and the rest is small stuff . God just wants you to accept him and he knows we can't live perfect ! That's impossible ! We all know right from wrong and we are to pray daily . So in my opinion I'd focus more on my soul than stuff that is petty . Downing anything that helps one live a quality of life is not a sin in my opinion . Again , if your truly saved then God corrects you not man .
