I appreciated her effort to speak filipino language. What made me sad after watching this video? That many filipino people who went abroad to work and live had forgotten to value their own native language. They were not able to teach their children to speak proper filipino language. That manifested on this video.

Even if their parents teach them Tagalog, their friends, classmates, and neighbors will still speak in English. You acquire a language by being exposed to it. Your parents acting as teachers alone can't make you reach fluency. Lol.

I have Chinese descent and hearing that girl speaking Mandarin fluently as she was saying the class year was 2012 (the year before I graduated) gave me a HUGE SMILE in my face as I always adore the Mandarin language! 😇👲🍊 I had a feeling most of the students cheered for the girl speaking Spanish as they must be in a mostly Hispanic school as I know by experience since most students at my high school were Hispanic as they were part of the 80% and a handful couldn't understand English well whenever I spoken to them lol. Also, I just created a Pilipino Flag this morning just for fun as I have it hung up on my wall inside my house and immediately SMILED hearing a student speaking Tagalog (Filipino) as I always dreamt of being a native speaker myself! 😀

Bravo! Di siya trying hard haha!!! Very good. Good job ka ate diyan..

Sasabihin niyong: nag-comment pa ka, ‘no? No. Tagalog is an austronesian/malay language, filipino has loanwords, doesnt mean its similar to english or spanish. And to the reply, our native culture still very much is alive today, stop being ignorant thinking we fed off the spanish culture completely when we definitely set ourselves apart from other spain colonized countries respect to elders, treating women equally, and the large lgbtq presence?? (present in thailand) our culture and language did not DERIVE from them, we've had them pre colonial times.. in fact pre colonial ph has a richer and more beautiful culture than post colonial and many filipinos fail to acknowledge that.

the blonde girl speaks spanish with no english accent at all. I wonder if she's a native speaker or a student 🤔 if she studied it, she's got my respect.

Is the first one is speaking in mandarin? If she is, I could understand but the pronunciations are wayyy off. Good job tho! I only understood where she said the year 2012, but I couldn't understand the rest hahaha. Unless it isn't in mandarin then I apologise

These proud Filipinos in the comment talking about how she forgot how to speak her mother language. Of course she will!!!! She's living in a country where barely anyone speaks TAGALOG, with English speakers and different races. I am a Tagalog Filipino but I know that there are ilocanos and bisaya in the states too. Tagalog isn't the only language in the Philippines, yes it is needed for us to understand each other here but we shouldn't force it on a fil-Am.

She did really well. If you go to BGC, or even Manila, middle class Filipinos are conyo lol. They have that gay guy accent, even the girls have it so please shut up "How much po kaya yung pair ng shorts?" "We need to go na. Kanina pa sila nagwawait there." "I've heard na that Starbucks daw there in that kanto is closing na daw." Can you here your manileño friend while reading? XD
