The movie portrays the big problem in India. How the people are marginalized based on their caste. I belong to that 'dalit' community. Despite having academic excellence (first rank holder in both ug and pg), I am still struggling to get a job because every job goes to management quota despite having passed all eligibility test, did publish papers and having other extra qualifications. In India to get a job, you have to be from upper caste and rich. For poor and lower caste, government job is the only way (excluding all aided institutions because they get all the provisions from government but give jobs to only people of their community despite government has a strict reservations for jobs). I don't have the money and I am from the lowest caste in India. I have faced many many instances of discrimination and most people think that I don't belong to dalit caste because of how intelligent I am. Like they all have this preconceived notion that lower caste people don't have brain and they reach higher positions only due to reservations. This is very wrong. They think that small 8% reservation provided for SC caste for jobs, from which only a 0.01 % actually get a job ( from census data) are the reason for them getting no job. If we SC dalit people don't even have a reservation, we will be kept poor and will remain socially and economically backward. No one shows a damn care about us other than feeling bad for us occassionally when watching these kinds of films and will soon forget about all these.....

🔥 I had the same reaction at the end but after learning there's a possibility of a prequel, I was like thank god. Prithviraj Sukumaran, the lawyer, is such a good actor. I first saw him in Lucifer with Mohanlal, then Urumi, Ayyappanum Koshiyum and Driving Licence. He'll be starring in the movie Salaar with Prabhas so check the trailer when it comes out!

If you are going to react thallumala, please note that It dont have a great story, but have a decent non linear screenplay The main thing about the movie is the editing pattern, camera works, costumes, music, actions, frames with rich colors, etc Story is like, chain of fights ( meaning of the movie title thallumala) and its connections

Suraj Venjaaramoodu, the actor who played the lead police officer is a brilliant actor who can pull of serious roles but he is an equally good comic actor. His earlier work usually involved him in comedic roles in movies for which he gained a cult following. His slapstick comedy roles (his role as Dasamoolam Damu in the movie Chattambinaadu in particular), are according to me, still his best work. No one can replace him in that format. I would have suggested you to watch him in one such role but the only problem is that the jokes are very local in nature and someone who has not grown up in this environment will most likely not be able to understand the humor.

@@Madvisionnif you love dark concepts, watch "anandabhadram" starring prithviraj (the same guy who acted as an advocate in this movie) the film is all about black magic and scary at parts ! The villain in this movie will haunt you for days ! Also there are only few reactions on youtube about this movie , its less explored and less known gem of a malayalam movie among people outside of kerala!

The morality in this movie reflects indian mentality. People are angry about these crimes and their anger is sated with encounter. People would buy into this fantasy that justice prevaled? But what is justice? Is it kill people or to make sure people do not turn to evil? I pick the latter. The encounter is easy way to shut people up and wouldn't stop the rape problem that plagues the society.

First of all, understand that the lawyers are not young and naive and without experience. I saw your reaction and felt like you are a person who believes everything that the media is reporting and that attitude comes because you haven't seen the world yet young boy. And dont be too quick to conclude each scene. Let it sit and sink in. Understand and there are lots of things these type of Content rich movies can give you in sense of information about the culture and news of the Locals in India and No we dont reach out to guns as quickly as you do in American countries. These are not your regular Marvel action heroes movies, instead, Malayalam movies are mostly acted to Content rich scripts and the actions (except the fight scenes) are realistic and relatable.
