Toronto landmark Honest Ed's is Closing I J&C Toronto

If you live or have lived in Toronto, you know of the discount department store "Honest Ed's" (and it's late owner Ed Mirvish). Honest Ed's is taking it's final bow on December 31, 2016 to make way for... wait for it... condos!
This is our ode to the Toronto gem. Join us as we say goodbye to the good ol' store in it's final days.

What a fun video. I hadn't been to Ed's in years, but I remember the last thing I bought there was my stove-top espresso pot (the six-sided one). Thanks for sharing this video.

Hi there. Yes, my espresso pot still works. Every now and then I have to replace the rubber gasket, but that's normal with any of those types. Have a great day!!

Very informative and good video. Some memories as a kid, walking those creaky steps, buying oversized chocolate bars, coming across Blondie and Bat out of Hell albums. Time flies.-Mr STT

We are really glad we went in before it shut it's doors to document it and have a bit of fun. We have a really fond memory of this day. It's a big hole right now. The new development will be coming up quickly!

The city of Toronto should have bought Honest Ed's and turned it into a historical site, museum and kept a portion into retail, rental space like Kensington Market.
