My mom knew I needed to keep my hands busy, which kept me calm I guess. I tried to teach my own daughter, but it didn't take, now at the age of 27 she is crocheting projects like crazy, self taught on youtube, from other teachers lol. Everyone in their own time and in their own way, I love seeing how different her style is to mine. She says it keeps her calm as well! Creating Art is a beautiful thing 💕

I just love your channel. It's so clean and fresh. I always try to do a standing stitch at the beginning of any new row, and agree it just looks bulky if you don't. I've also seen a few Tubers slip the very last stitch from the back of the work. So don't do a final slip stitch, just take your hook out and insert into your very first stitch of that round and then pull the loop from the last stitch through the stitch now on the hook. It looks very neat. I also forget to do it, because it hasn't been planted in my memory for 50 years, like the traditional way.
@jspcreate
@jspcreate 3 ай бұрын
Thanks so much, that is a good suggestion for the finishing of the round. I will use that sometimes when I am continuing with the same colour. I agree with you, I was thinking the other day, I have been crocheting for about 50 years now 🙃 ( yikes ) , and old habits die hard lol. I'm learning new things as well everyday though too, that is the great thing about the crochet community, we love to share 💕

If you yarn over twice this can be used for a US double. Holding loose end to the right the tail ends up at top of stitch. I was advised to hang on to the tail till second stitch was completed. With your method the tail is safely tucked in at once.

I usually start a hdc and dc with a beginning ch 2 and a ch 3, so I wouldn’t use this method. The first stitch might be a little scrunched using this way as the beginning chain brings it up to the right height, having said that it would be worth a try.
