Janet Jackson received 8 award at the 1990 Billboard Music Awards telecast (She also won an additional 7 awards that night which were not televised, bringing her total to 15 awards won in one night)

You know, people forget how BIG Janet was in her prime AND she was competing against the likes of Mariah, Whitney and Madonna herself at the time. So the fact she was getting so much acclaim and breaking records like this was HUGE. She really had to work hard to stand out like that and it paid off. Can't say that much about most artists today.

Ive never seen a room of people just jump to their feet without even a performance given. Janet had impact! Still does to this day. Like Prince and Micheal, her music has aged like fine wine. And they all wrote their material!!!!!!!!! Amazing times!

Its crazy how she was only partially through the Rhythm Nation era and all this excitement was already bestowed. Gotta realize no one was bringing the heat on stage as a female, not even Madonna,at this time. I think Madonna had saw her impact so quickly and thats where all of the slick shade started with her making borderline remarks.

Omg the blonde ambition tour was voted the number 1 best tour of the 90's. I get liking Janet but you cannot compare Madonna's numbers to Janet's.
