In this video, we spend an entire day at the Blue Mountains here in Sydney Australia.
Getting there:
Getting to the Blue Mountains from Sydney is easy by car, bus or train. The drive from Sydney to Katoomba is just 90 minutes. Alternatively, if you prefer the train, they regularly depart from Central Station, and you get off at Katoomba station and get a bus to Echo Point Lookout, Scenic world and back
TIP: If you're taking the train, visit on a Sunday because the Opal card caps fares at $2.80 for the entire day!
I would suggest heading to Scenic World first, as their rides are open only from 9AM - 5PM (with the last rides going at 4:50PM). The rides are sold together as a part of a discovery package, and you get unlimited access to the below rides for the entire day. Head to Leura, a suburb in the Blue Mountains for a quick bite to eat; we went to Lily Pad cafe (address: 19 Grose St, Leura) but i've also heard good things about Leura Garage (Address:"84 Railway Parade, Leura ) so check that place out and let me know what you think!
After all that, i'd head on to Echo Point, where you can take really awesome pictures of the Three Sisters. Depending on how much time you have left, why not give one of their walks a go, but if you are strapped for time, head to the Three Sisters & Honeymoon Bridge. it's about a 20 minute walk from Echo Point (there are very steep steps though) and you get really close to the Three Sisters!
Scenic World rides: Entire package is $49 AUD (for adults)
1. Scenic Skyway - " Walk on air on the Scenic Skyway's glass floor as you glide between cliff tops above the Jamison Valley. At 270 metres, it is the highest cable care in Australia"
2. Scenic Railway - "At a 52 degree incline, the Scenic Railway is the stepest passenger train in the world."
3. Scenic Cableway - "Carrying 84 people, the Scenic Cableway is Australia's biggest cable car. Descend the 545 metres into the Jamison Valley or return back up to the top of the escarpment"
4. Scenic Walkway - "Spend ten minutes or a full hour strolling among ancient,m temperate rain forest. With a selection of walks totaling 2.4kms, the Walkway is the longest elevated boardwalk in Australia. "
This is a very long description - but if you are reading THIS, damn - let me know in the comments and say "but are the mountains blue?"

Hi Janice! We've heard great things about Three Sisters. Some of our friends were just there and we can see why. The views are quite impressive. That's a good looking lunch too. I would be a bit nervous about the cable car with the glass floor, but it is pretty cool that you can see down.

Ah Janice. The actual seat bolted on the railway carriage cannot be manually tilted. The tilting occurs when the railway car goes through the various gradients on the railway track. A word of caution to everyone, the Scenic World Rides (railway, cableway and skyway) are really busy on weekends and public holidays. You picked a quiet day which is a great decision in itself. There is also a nice 45 minutes walk between Scenic World and Three Sisters. Once again, nice video. Keep releasing these videos and in a few years you will be a star Janice - onya.

If you don't want to drive and are going on a Sunday then i would suggest catching a train up to the Blue Mountains. There is a special Sunday travel cap on opal cards for umlimited travel for $2.80 for Adult & Children/Concession. There is a Blue Mountains Bus Loop service - Route 686 that runs from Katoomba Station approx every 10 minutes and does a loop to Scenic World via Echo Point. transportnsw.info/routes/details/blue-mountains-buses-network/686/64686 (*** This bus service is included in the Opal Card System - so the $2.80 Sunday Opal Card cap applies to this service.***) I love bushwalking so generally my typical day in the blue mountains would include a whole lot of walks. There are so many trails to explore around the three sister/echo point & scenic world. I usually catch the train up to the mountain then get the bus to echo point and do a whole lot of walk and end up at scenic world and get the bus back to Katoomba then normally grab lunch at one of the many cafes in town. This is one of my fav walks from the top of scenic world walking all the walk down into the Jamison Valley and then catch the scenic railway or cable car back to the top. www.nationalparks.nsw.gov.au/things-to-do/walking-tracks/furber-stepsscenic-railway-walking-track

We live in Springwood. It’s worth looking out for events at the Blue Mountains Theatre here, it’s an excellent venue. John Shand, music writer for the SMH rates it as the best kn Greater Sydney. If you are going to Katoomba, it’s also worth the extra half-hour drive to Lithgow. Nice town, lots of history and excellent restaurants and cafes.

As always an enjoyable video. What the video cannot convey is the height of the pathway and how close you are to 100m+ vertical drops. I was at the Three Sisters location almost the same time as you. An excellent walk is the Prince Henry scenic walk , you were on some of it as you visited the waterfalls, but there are excellent view points and it is not too crowded. Also it is mostly fairly flat, but not wheelchair friendly.

You should do a road trip down to Berry/South NSW. You can do these on the way.. Bald Hill lookout, Kiama Blowhole, Eat at The Hungry Monkey then top it off with Berrys famous donut at the Donut van. Then drive a bit further south to Jim's wild oysters. On the way back to Sydney. Go see Kangaroo Valley and Fitzroy Falls lookout.
