Janis wore her soul like a blanket trying to protect her from pain, hurt, anger, & even love! This woman was one of a kind, & sadly missed by everyone who loved & understood her music ❤ 💚 💙 She truly was a gift that was only with us for a short time, but what a glorious time it was!!! Thank you for such a thoughtful reaction ❤ 💚 💙

Janis is Jimi's playing put into words. Unique, powerful, and mind blowing. Through her singing she exorcised her pain -- at least for a few moments. My deep sympathy and sincere condolences on the loss of your dad. Take care of yourself.

Gotta be the best vocal intro to any song ever 😄 Janis not only had those supreme, inimitable powerhouse vocals but she could also bring it on down, sing a ballad with the best of them, and then offer pure soprano tones when needed. She also had impeccable timing and ad-lib skills that would make any jazz musician proud! And by all accounts a REALLY nice human being to boot. Thanks for showcasing her here, I discovered her at 14 back in the 70s in my brother's record collection, and I am so thrilled with people still discovering her--and being of course blown away---in this day and age. I never get tired of hearing her! ~~Katerina

When Janis Joplin sang she always put her heart, her soul and her pain into her music. She felt the music with every fiber of her being and sang her heart out. She was so loved back in the day and died way to young at 27 years old. The day she died crushed so many hearts. She may be gone but her awesome music lives on. She was a unique singer and person. I loved your reaction thank you.

This song had to be recorded within a year I would say 6 months before she died. And this is one of her more emotional appearances that I've seen. But anytime I've seen her perform which has always been on television, She reminds me of the absorption into and enjoyment in the music.. I see that in Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin as well. Just watch him play the guitar and one of the videos he Really loves it

I'll disagree with insisting that live performances are always the best of her's. Some are great, some are terrible for various reasons (bad equipment, voice tired/strained/affected by illness, interruptions from crowd, strung out, etc.). Her studio work represents how she wanted the songs to be presented - there was none of the autotune or other recent tricks back then. Nonetheless, this is one was great.
