Janis is a legend. Her live Ball and Chain performance at Monterey Pop in '69 should be on everyone's bucket list to watch.

Janis is one of those singers that no matter what generation you come from, you have to love the way she puts her heart and soul into every song she sings. Amazing powerful voice and performer. A tragedy she passed so young.

Thank you Dominika & Andrei for bringing back a wonderful memory! I was a huge fan of Janis Joplin, so when she played in Toronto (1970) I had to be there and worked my way to the front of the stage to listen & watch her blow myself & the audience away. It was absolute magic! Four months later her death stunned us all. FYI - Janis' band, the Full Tilt Boogie Band, was all Canadian - from Stratford & London, Ontario - my home province. Thanks again and greetings from Canada!

Saw Janis with Big Brother and the Holding Company with the bands Crow and Danny's Reasons (local band) as lead up back in 1969 in Minneapolis. Great show all around.

Everything Dominika said about Janis is on point! She put her heart and soul into her performances but was shy otherwise. I was a young girl when her album 'Pearl" was released, just a few months after her death. I played that album to death! One performance that she did with Tom Jones was fun to watch. You get to see her playful side. Perhaps you would like to react to Tom Jones & Janis Joplin - Raise Your Hand. Lots of dancing and happiness

Some of Janis' best live performances on KZfaq are: "Maybe" (live on the Ed Sullivan Show), "To Love Somebody" (live on the Dick Cavette Show) and "Little Girl Blue" (live on "this is Tom Jones" show). These are good recordings and she and her band were at the height of their powers. One of my favorite of her studio recordings is: "Try (just a little bit harder)."

In modern times there are 2 ladies that are commonly said to rival Janis` power, Melissa Etheridge and Beth Hart. I live in Melissa`s hometown and she is Legendary in the parts and Beth (IMO) is the Queen of the Blues, Beth does a couple covers of Etta James that will blow you away. "Ill take Care of You" and "Id Rather Go Blind" and of course she is with Joe Bonamassa who (IMO) is the greatest Guitarist alive, now that Eddie Van Halen has passed!

To jest występ z programu telewizyjnego Dick Cavett Show w roku 1970 (rok można poznać po pozostałych muzykach), 25.06 lub 03.08 (były dwa występy w tym roku) czyli 2-3 miesiące przed śmiercią, zmarła 04.10. Piosenka jest coverem, oryginał śpiewał Howard Tate 1967. Na temat Janis są 2 filmy: Janis Joplin - the way she was 1974 zbiór występów z fragmentami wywiadów jest na YT w kawałkach, Janis - Little Girl Blue (chyba 2011-13) dokument biograficzny (trochę uproszczony, żeby upchnąć w 1,5 godziny). Ja bym polecił Summertime z koncertu live Stockholm 1969 (a potem wersję Summertime Billie Holiday 1939).
