Most of the nor’easter’s fury has concluded after dumping record snow totals for some, but the weather threats haven’t ended as the night goes on.

I myself always do something for the homeless and the restless exspecialy when it's winter , wet and cold I've paid as much as 3 nights stay at a hotel I found it was better than giving a few dollars and leave them alone in the cold , wet , winter lonely , cold , wet and hungry and afraid......once I allowed 2 to sleep in my basement to get out of the coldness of the night... LET'S DO OUR PART BY JOINING TOGETHER AS ONE TO HELP THE POOR AND THE NEEDY WE MUST HAVE A "STARTING POINT SOME WHERE" SO WHY NOT LET IT START WITH YOU AND I..... Look, I'm used to the Boston local news' way of covering snowstorms, interviews funky people out for a jog, people out in blizzard condition looking for an open dunkin donuts, talking about whether the snow is powdery enough for sledding. People this morning coming out making snow angels, having a good time, meeting neighbors, digging out their cars and sidewalk like a city-wide Sunday feel-good workout. And here I am tuning into NBC New York, and its all dramatic music, ohhh my gosh its soooo dangerous, sooo devastating, sooo horribleeee! Dude, seriously. You are New York. Stop acting like this is the first time you see some snow.

I remember as a very young boy - living near Watertown, NY - we regularly got feet of snow. The State Plows had to be called in because of the depth of the snow. Snow banks made by the plows reached almost to the power lines on the telephone poles. I could have touched the power lines. I did not touch them. The town I lived in was Dexter.

Respect to all the sanitation workers and to the cities for keeping the roads clear. I have seen news reports of similar snowstorms in northern Spain where some towns and cities don't even prepare for them. Some people get buried in their towns for weeks at a time. And, mind you, because some of those towns are centuries old, they don't have central heating to heat their homes. They only rely on chopped wood and provisions they got ahead of the storm. It is not in every town and city but in some.

Seems, you, in US, you are well prepared for this expected snowstorm bomb, as you call it. Compare to what happened the last week (Jan 20 - 28, 2022) in Greece, in that unusual date for the Greece, this weather snowstorm who arrived from north Europe. The state/s services works very well to keep roads, national streets and highway open. Even cranes, in accident scenes to help trucks who fall down and restore the traffic on road. Plus the fact, I see, there is common understanding and well communication of each crew who helps the community that time! Much probably, in US, you should be more disciplined (than, what) we are in Greece.
