What to do in January in Switzerland? January is the month where you get to experience winter wonderland in Switzerland! It is usually cold and foggy at lower altitudes, but if you head up to the mountains in the Swiss Alps, you get to experience sunshine and paradise. In January you can do all kind of winter activities, such as skiing, snowboarding, sledging or simply enjoying the beautiful nature in and around the Swiss villages. Events are rare at this time of year and the ones that are are often in ski resorts. So if you want to experience a ski race, then Adelboden or Wengen (below Jungfrau) are perfect for you during this month.

Very useful tipps, Greg! Never been to Switzerland during winter. Besides I can't do any wintersport, hehe. Maybe for me just to enjoy how the snow fall from the sky 😊😊😊

I've been asking around about what there is to do in CH during January. We live in at tourist town in the USA and are very busy from March-December. Ideally we'd like to take the month of January, go to CH, relax, see lots of snow and do almost nothing for a couple of weeks. Maybe walk, go to bakeries, see some farms, waterfalls, that sort of thing. We're kinda looking at the Jungfrau area. What advice or information can you give? Your channel is very humorous! I really enjoy your comedic honesty. 😆

Hi thanks for your feedback! January is a great month to do just that! And in the jungfrau region you can do some short trips to different villages to go and have coffee and walks! I think its a good idea!

Hey, yeah February is almost the same but the days are a bit longer already! There is nothing that comes to mind that's notably different :-)

Thanks for helpful video. Which city is the nearest to milan italy that you can enjoy the snow activities? Is it save to drive from milan italy to those cities in Switzerland during january?

Hey you want to look into Valais region or Ticino. But Valais with cities like Zermatt, Saae Fee or the Bettmeralp area are wonderful for snow and close to Italy. It is safe to drive but you will have to take a train with your car (you drive onto the train) in order not to have to drive a mega detour. Hope this helps and you will have a great time!
