I loved Blue Bird, Blue Bird. I need to try the Louise Penny series.

It was a good book- I’d read more by her. The Louise Penny series is just classic mystery fun to me. 😊

I’ve heard good things about Blue Bird, Blue Bird. The Man in the Iron Mask looks relatively short for a Dumas 😅. The Count of Monte Cristo and The Three Musketeers are both on my TBR. Glad January was a good reading month! I just started Valley of the Dolls but am thinking about picking up either The Brothers Karamazov or Lud-in-the-Mist next. Hope your February is off to a great start 😊

The Man in the iron mask is part three of the sequel to three musketeers! It was too chunky all together 🤣

I love old textbooks, especially reading ones. It is interesting to observe the changing attitudes and different types of propaganda utilized in educational material. I had one that was a "history of America in pictures", with a picture or painting from each year of American history up until the time the book was published in the fifties. I was appalled by one of the entries that appeared to justify the actions of the Ku Klux Klan in the early twentieth century. 😱

I really do like them. A good break from heavier books.

I was going through my mil stuff and found old text books from the 60's. I set them aside and need to go through them. I'm wondering if they eye hers for maybe gimme school when she had polio. With her deceased I won't know, but that was a thought. I hear a handful talk about Louise Penny books, maybe I'll look into them.

Did you read all the books in the Three Muskateers series? Or did you just do Muskateers and Iron Mask?

I just read the introduction and recap notes prior to Iron Mask and I thought that worked well for me. Obviously there were spoilers galore for the books in between and a couple things sounded like I missed out not reading them but I think I chose properly for me. 😃
