loved the interaction with the old couple! they're so cute :D btw, are you allowed to ride the bike on the pedestrian lanes in japan? Not sure what the rules about that are since I see many people usually bike on the roads

This is very good, keep on fighting, I remember my first time struggling with the transport in Denmark... I went back and forth in the trains like 3--4 ended up getting lost. This happened to me multiple times xD Now I am able to take the public Transport without the struggles. But for you getting that bike, must've felt like a huge relief, so happy for ya :D

Just a helpful tip, it might be easier to wash and dry your clothes if you do smaller loads. Rooting for you and your success 👏🏼

Beware of the "fake accident scam." Some elderly individuals may run this scam by suddenly falling in front of your bicycle, claiming that you crashed into them. If you stop your bike and approach to help them, they may pretend to be severely injured and demand a large amount of money, and you have to give it to them there is no other choice.

No, that's a big misunderstanding. Your story is only a common phenomenon in "Chinese" society. That rarely happens in Japan (maybe you may hear that kind of crime once in 20 years there.) If you see someone falling on the street, please please please help them. If you are unsure what to believe, ask your teacher or advisor at your school about this rumor you've heard here online.
