It wouldn't save Russia. Japan simply played much better. But, if Russians' d be lucky, they could get a draw.

Advantage as a host same as south Korea. Not sure the goal of Japan is onside.

Inamoto's goal was supposed to be offside not a goal. Russia was robbed.

Согласен там был офсайд,по современным возможностям гол был бы отменён ,инамото при передаче был на шаг ближе от крайнего защитника

I paused the video at the moment of the pass and it seems like it wasn't offside. Pretty hard though, could be millimeters offside.

Russia owned many talents participating that WCF but they were not disciplined enough. They were also lagging strategy. With Onopko, Nikiforov, Alenichev, Smertin, Karpin, Titov, Mostovoy and Beschastnyskh.. they could go further in this tournament.

But the goalkeeper was pure shit. Absolute fucking shit. Russia's best GK at that time, Sergei Ovchinnikov, didn't even make the final 23-men squad because the coach was a wiener.

Terrible performance by Russia. They simply couldn't control their nerves and convert their chances, like every russian team ever. Japan NT at that time wasn't half as good as it is today.
