Join me as I embark on a pilgrimage on the sacred #KumanoKodo. The previous videos shows my travel from Chikatsuyu then the highlight hike from Hosshinmon-oji to Kumano Hongu Taisha.
Day 4 is about the highlight walk from Daimon-zaka slope to Kumano Nachi Taisha, and then down to the Nachi Waterfalls. Now this is the final leg of my Kumano Kodo multi-day hike. And of course -- IT IS NO LONGER RAINING! And we're grateful and all!
As always, I highly recommend visiting the Tanabe City Kumano Tourism Bureau website for information should you start getting inspired trying this wonderful multi-day hike. www.tb-kumano.jp/en/
We would appreciate the usual lot of liking, subscribing, hitting that notification and also, sharing this video to your friends and network! 🥰😊💕
Also -- do check out our other videos! We hiked the Nakasendo in December 2022, also another amazing adventure in Japan, this time in its central region.
Thank you, and do check us out on Instagram as well: @trav.journal!

Interesting journey. Good to see this kind of travel in Japan. Not a lot of tourists know this. Much more interesting than the usual spots.

great video. I am planning a trip to Japan late Sept. Just a few questions. Can you use the JR Kansai wide pass for the bus from Kii-Tanabe to Yunomine/Honggu and from Honggu to Shingu? Thank you

Thanks for sharing your experience on the kumano kodo 🙂 wich month was it (for the weather conditions) ? I plan to do exactly the same 5 days trek in may 2024. Based on your experience, if you would do it for the 1st time would you do it exactly the same or do you recommend to drop something ?

Hi! Thanks for watching the video. I went last April. Other than the weather, I think it went perfectly well. Weather was hard to predict since I had to book everything months before the trip. I was happy with my homestays - maybe I would have liked to stay a day longer in Yunomine Onsen because I didn’t get to explore the town due to the rains and the distance of my accommodations. But my plan is to do it again and perhaps stay longer in some towns and explore other trails around Nakahechi. If I had the guts and company I would do the Kohechi route. :-)
