The other day I saw that Costco was selling the Japanese A5 Grade Wagyu Steak so I had to get it to make this review for you guys. At $99.99/lb , is it worth the price tag ?

@@roncoburn7771 it is NOT for everyone. I love ribeye steak, and tried some gold-grade American Wagyu from Snake River Farms. It’s a cross-breed with less marbling than this stuff. It was just too rich for my taste - too much fat. Glad I tried it and I see why people like it, but give me prime, dry or wet aged, over this,

I visited the Japan just before the pandemic, became addicted to wagyu. I've since spent thousands on A5 here in NYC, and worth every penny. I try to describe to my friends and random people how amazing it is, and they look at me like i'm insane. I could relate to every mouthwatering bite you were taking. Thank you for this!

Bro, when I bought my first 2 pounds of a5, I had butcher, walk that thang to the counter in case I ran off with it without paying. It felt special. The holy grail. Haha

As a Japanese Wagyu fanatic, I don't have to eat that cut of meat to be able to tell whether it's quality or not. The way the fat cap melts off into smaller little chunks as you cut into it with a room temperature knife, tells me everything about the quality of that cut. That's high grade Wagyu right there. Just a thought, instead out salting the steak, try cooking it as is. Make yourself a stick of herb infused compound steak butter and cut a small square of that to melt a thin layer on top of your steak. The natural flavors of the beef will still come through as well as the enhanced flavoring from the compound steak butter. That's the only way I eat steak, I don't screw around with A1 or steak sauce. You should try it.

@@SAINTxSZN Food *_IS_* just food. However, there are gourmand or food connoisseur who prefers, enjoys and appreciates quality. And no that doesn't make one a god. That just means they have a better taste palate than you. You might want to hit up Walmart and find the cheapest round beef cut, and call it a filling meal, while others call that chewing rubber. But if you prefer chewing rubber for dinner, that's your business.

For anybody considering making A5 wagyu. Make sure u don’t eat too much because it is very intense and can cause a really upset stomach. One steak can serve even 4 people. It is a sharing steak.

When I first stumbled on a video about waygu steaks and so the price I said no way Jose. But my son in law bought two ....paid over 150 for them for my wife and I s 40 the anniversary and it was the best and most succulent piece of meat I ever tasted. This randomly showed up i9n my recs and I thoroughly enjoyed it. First, I love how honest he was in admitting this was a big budget spend for him (as it would be for most people). It was clearly a VERY big deal to him. Funny how he was saying his parents wouldn't be happy about him spending $170 for 2 steaks! Mine aren't Japanese but they wouldn't approve either, and I'm older that he is! I also like how he admits he is not a professional chef, but then did try really hard to get it right. Like many of you, though, I would have enjoyed seeing his wife's reaction!

Yo, my guy! I had my Costco wagyu steaks tonight. Amazing! Like nothing I’ve ever tasted before. Two bites into it and it melts into your mouth. (I prepared them like you with just kosher salt and cracked pepper). They’re so rich that two was more than enough for 4 of us. Anyway, HIGHLY recommend if you can find an excuse to splurge. It may be the only time I eat Japanese A5 wagyu bit at least I had it once in my life. 😝
