I got the A5 wagyu from Costco. Prepared it, and it was absolutely delicious. HOWEVER, I think I may be the first person ever to say, I prefer regular usda prime steaks. After less than half the steak, I was done! Waaaaayyy too rich and fatty. If you're going to eat it, I recommend having no more than 2 or 3 little pieces at a time.

Pro-tip #1 - season with pepper after the steak is cooked, not before. Fresh cracked pepper burns nearly instantly in a searing hot pan, imparting a burnt off-flavor to the meat that you won't get in a high end steakhouse. Pro-tip #2 - smash the garlic to let the aromatics out, but leave the skin on to prevent burning in the hot pan.

Damn good looking steaks indeed. I still don't understand the difference between seasoning right before you cook or waiting an hour or so.
@SavaSnacks
@SavaSnacks 2 жыл бұрын
I'd say the one thing you have to make sure of is that if you season it WITH SALT ahead of time, make sure you pat the steak dry with a paper towel right before searing and maybe salt it again. When you season the steak with salt ahead of time, it pulls liquid out of the steak and will make it hard to sear if you don't make sure to pat it dry. hope that helps!

American wagyu is made up of saturated fat where as Japanese wagyu is made up of unsaturated fat creating that melt in your mouth feeling because unsaturated fat has less bite and a lower melting point. @@santamuerte7790 wagyu is actually healthy for you. The fat is unsaturated fat not saturated fat. And has incredibly high omega 3 and omega 6 content. It’s a lot healthier for you than most cuts of beef

I would never add olive oil....I don't remember if I did in the video but I would be shocked. if it's an oil it would be veg oil. Adding olive oil is def the wrong technique, I agree.

Your are probably lv2-3 maybe 4 out of 7 at cooking steak My uncle taught me to grade people skills like this And you didn’t t need to add oil trim the side fat and and sear it and it will produce it’s own sort of like butter and oil and later don’t put the steak In yet put very thin garlic slices and out put in the wagyu fat until the garlic is golden brown then take it out And then cook the steak and and don’t add pepper since it will give a weird after taste to the a5 wagyu Smoked salt should be good
