Back in the 1980s-1990s it was common practice for western celebs to do commercials in Japan undercover - chances of them surfacing in America or Europe were next to nil. The Internet changed all that of course… and now it also brings us wacky Japanese commercials through channels like these. Win win. いつもとても面白いです 👌

6:52 Freddie Mercury died in 1991. This ad doesn't look that old. Is it CGI or is it really that old?

They used the video and the song I Was Born To Love You to make the commercial, what is not known is if Freddie sings this version or is an imitator.

@@JapanesecommercialsHD Upon further investigation (I googled it), the ad is from 2011. The voice is from Gary Mullen, a well-known and very good Freddie Mercury imitator. Putting Gary Mullen's mouth movements on to Freddie Mercury's face from the music video (or just doing it by CGI) should have been fairly easy in 2011. Case solved.
