I lived in Japan in the military (Iwakuni) and my best memories were hiking in the mountains and finding rivers like this. I never fished but I'd swim or skip rocks and listen to birds. I was a different person there.

What really stands out is the incredible human being that you are! I mean I hunt and fish as well. And understand the situation. When you caught all those fish and squid and let them go because you couldn't eat them it really showed the inner you. Taking only what you need, and giving thanks for every meal. Much respect goes out to you for the type of person that you are when dealing with nature and surviving as well. May happiness follow you wherever you go my friend! I had to subscribe of course

i do not understand why you know you are full and not gonna eat them but still keep fishing just to release them back...You know the fish take the bait and hurt itself doing that. All those sharp hooks do damage. It is not like you release them and there is nothing happened. Just stop fishing and go back up shore.

@@raypang8400 It seems you've never heard of fishing as a sport, we do it because we enjoy it, it's relaxing and it's fun. You don't know exactly the way a fish feels pain, and if you don't understand why he's fishing aside from food, then why even comment?

Lovely video, showes natural living in balance with nature. The river landscape there in Japan strangely reminds me of where I often fish in Ireland between February and April. We also get lots of Dace too, but I have to admit I have never eaten one or even kept one, all go straight back. I wonder how it tastes, but your culinary skills made it look appetising. Nice to see your work and it sets an example that proper fishermen only take what we need to eat and return the excess, this is vitally important for the environment and everybody else we share this wonderful Earth with.

@Sammiboo97 yes, I agree, very important to fish in rivers that are well away from industrial waste and pollution. I am lucky I can fish in good rivers and I check water quality if I travel further. I would like to try a Japanese river sometime. I often get my sea fishing equipment direct from a Japanese supplier. Sometime in the future, after the financial Reset and transition to CBDC's that the controllers are inflicting on the world has ended, I will visit Japan. Hopefully the cabal will have failed and we will have a better world and better rivers too.
