I think Touhou really popularized the traditional rock/modern folk genre because it’s not often I find songs within this genre outside of Touhou remixes haha. That makes sense, considering that’s basically what Touhou’s about, traditional Japanese folklore with modern twists to it.

I went into this with absolutely no expectations.... but holy shit is this amazing. Especially the very first song in this compilation. From pure musical standpoint its very well composed and meshes well with the different styles. Great job whoever made this !

I'm fairly certain the song at 51:15 (ハム - 雨垂れ拍子は誰が為に (Album: kazegatari)) is based off of "The Gensokyo the Gods Loved (神々が恋した幻想郷)". The album which the song came from, Kazegatari (かぜがたり), is a Touhou album, released at Reitaisai 13 (the annual Touhou convention), published by Foxtail-Grass Studio (known for Touhou albums) and arranged by Hama (known for Touhou arrangements). So...I beg to differ.
