We have a saying in the motorcycle world, "All the gear, all the time" = ATGATT. You dress for the fall, not the ride. And PvG is right about the term, "rather sweat then bleed" I will still wear my leather motorcycle jackets in the Florida summers. But textile/mesh jackets still provide good protection and great breathability.

Kushitani makes some great gear. So glad to see that safety is a priority for you, John. Here in NY with the oppressive humidity, I was so thankful to have bought a Vanson Hurricane perforated jacket. It’s absolutely fantastic in hot weather. Have fun riding! Shiny side up!

Reminds me - several years ago on a field trip with students (we ended up in a smallish town) our departmental driver found a biker's jacket in a "bundle store" - they bring in huge bundles of second hand clothes from the US, Europe, Japan, etc., open up the bundles and sell the individual pieces. You even get stores like this in small towns. This jacket was really nice - it had a big emblem on the back (motorbike gang?), which seemed to be Korean rather than Japanese. We were in that town for three days, he agonized over whether to buy it or not - it was about USD15 - actually quite expensive if you were making USD500 a month. He ended up buying it.. I was thinking it wasn't exactly suitable for the climate here (it's 32C+ year around, and humid) but I suppose you could wear it indoors where it's air-conditioned.

@@onlyinjapanGO @ONLY in JAPAN * GO very cool design! The front pocket will be a life savior when you need to pay something quickly. I bought It in Italy on the brand outlet. Dainese super Speed Tex jacket was 27000¥ and the Alpinestars GP tech was 55000¥. Leather suites have pre-curved arms. When you wear It, It feels like they are demanding you to GO FAST. 😂

I am NOT EXCITED about John getting a Motorcycle license. HE HAS A NEWBORN, THIS IS NOT THE TIME. I am sure many riders will chime-in their disagreement, never the less I stand with what I said. I have about 3 million Km driving experience as professional and I am a rider as well. I have seen things and experienced situations MANY TIMES OVER that most people have not. So I trust my views on this! As reference to sink in: someone who is driving 10.000Km per year, will need 300 years to have 3 million Km experience! So please don't take too lightly what I have said. I have said it in good faith and with the best intention only. I know riding a bike is a lot of fun. But so are many other wonderful indulgences that we consciously chose to skip. Such is life.
