I like the Osaka dialect because of how brash and direct it seems compared to how people seem to speak in Tokyo. It's definitely a dialect with a lot of character.

He started doing Filthy Frank in college hoping to boost his musical career, as “a parody of everything horrible on the internet”. I tend to think of the character as a 4chan version of Hen na Ojisan. I’d be interested in seeing you react to some old variety shows. I feel like I would learn something about Joji’s sense of humor. The character became so popular he got stuck in it, and he ultimately had to quit for health reasons. It seems to have made it harder to get his music career started. When he dropped his first album, he tried to keep it a secret from the Filthy Frank fans. He just dropped his second album! You should definitely do a reaction video to some of his music. He does have a really nice voice. Thank you for all the videos!

As much as I like your Japanese accent when you speak English ( sorry, but I just think it's cute ) it's nice to hear you speak Japanese. I'm slowly learning Japanese bit by bit, so hearing native speakers and learning to notice the words I already know is good practice. Plus I learned about bit about the Osaka-ben for the first time today. And, as always, your reactions to Filthy Frank's videos are always entertaining. I'm not generally a fan of reaction videos, but I genuinely enjoy yours.

I'm not sure if you know this, but he is also a singer. He actually stop being Filthy Frank and is going by Joji now for the most part. And yes - I do enjoy your Japanese video a lot. I'm currently learning Japanese, so it helps a lot to hear how people sound like casually.

Asagi-san.. Phil desu! Thank you for this video! I've just found your channel and so far have watched a few videos, this is the first one in Japanese that I have watched. I have recently started learning Japanese, and so far have a few basic phrases, can read and write hiragana and most of katakana, and recognise a VERY small amount of kanji, 難しい for example (it's appropriate 🤣).. I've decided to focus on grammar before vocabulary, so now when I listen to spoken Japanese, I know what it is I should be listening to. It makes it easier to distinguish words, even if I don't know them yet. I just wanted to say what a really nice voice you have! Often it can be difficult as a new learner, but I actually understand a lot more of what YOU say, than I do most other native Japanese speakers that I follow, even some of the language teachers! What words I don't understand, I still recognise as words and could probably write them in hiragana based on what you say. May I ask, if you read this, what part of Japan do you come from? I wonder if it's a regional accent thing, or perhaps you simply have a really nice voice... Either way, thank you! Arigatou gozaimashita.. With love from the UK! 酎ハイは関西でもチューハイのフラットの発音ですよ😅。あと、関西人がエレガントな人じゃないとか、京都人が「わりと」エレガントだとか言うと関西の人を傷つけるし、とても嫌な気持ちにさせるのでやめた方がいいですよ。奈良の人なら「はぁ・・・？」で済みますが、京都の人は聞き長さず間違いなく本気で怒ります。関西弁は表現の幅があってやわらかいんです。ネイティブでない人は、TVで関西人のお笑いを見ていても、言葉に込められたニュアンスの違いに気づいていないのかもしれませんね。😢

In retrospect, the interesting thing about the Filthy Frank show is that it is basically you watching the process of Joji Miller growing up.
