Taking a tour of Amazon Web Services Singapore office and interviewing Japanese senior high school students studying in Singapore. What are their views of this country? What are their plans after high school? Joined an interesting discussion on Amazon’s Culture of Innovation and learned so much from their diverse employees. Big thanks to Amazon Web Services for inviting me to meet their friendly teams. @AmazonWebServices

I went to the Waseda Shibuya high school Seiransai event almost every year last time in my teens. Inspired me to learn Japanese even more, on top of the existing anime, pop cultural influences. Eventually did learn Japanese over a time span of a decade or so but didn't have much of a chance to use it unless I'm doing cultural exchanges with Japanese students or go to Japan for a holiday. That was back in 2007 lol. Now I feel old as fk, I don't even attend the Seiransai event anymore as I feel literally like an Ojisan, out of place there. Makes me reminisce the great times when I was at the peak of my youth back then.

Waseda University as far as I know is a prestigious uni in Japan. My former employer (a Japanese MNC) hired many fresh graduates from Waseda and Tokyo University every year!

Probably because of guanxi of the alumni. Students go to Waseda because they can afford. The really good ones usually go to Tokyo University (Todai). Waseda is ranked 500-600 if I remembered correctly. I did my student exchange there.

@@uwet.8826 In the past I had worked with several Tokyo university graduates when they were assigned to me as interns as part of their learning program from our overseas head office. Most of them tackled works in a very well organized, structured and systematic manner in a way they would never lose sight of the task objective. Alignment and harmonization are the Japanese philosophy applied in the work setting. For any Japanese who have graduated from these two universities (and many others) and landed a job with any good companies in Japan, they can be prepared to stay there till retirement. Japanese management rarely fire anyone unless the person has committed frauds or crimes that violate the fundamentals of human dignity and societal interest.

There goes naughty and funny ghib san again. His caption/ text "all Japanese are like that", he sounded like he's not japanese, so funny but also bad bad boy, aiyoh. Then when it comes to the gem biscuits, he sounded like a "proud" local when he said "you don't know this". Aiyoh why you so like that...be more humble lah😂?! Actually the gem biscuits are dry if you eat them without drinks. When we were growing up, we ate these biscuits with chocolatey milo, yummy❤. Nice video, keep up the good work 👍.

How about doing a tour of a Japanese school here so we can learn how they teach, compared to local schools? Jiayou, Ghib!
