In this video, we capture the intense struggle between a Yellow Hornet (Vespa simillima xanthoptera) and a Paper Wasp inside a birdhouse. Originally set up to protect wild birds, the birdhouse becomes the battleground for these two insect queens. The Yellow Hornet queen has taken residence, and surprisingly, a Paper Wasp nest is also found nearby. As the two cannot coexist in the limited space, the Paper Wasp queen launches an attack on the Yellow Hornet. Follow the fascinating and dramatic events that unfold as the Yellow Hornet queen defends her territory, and witness the natural survival challenges these insects face. This video offers a captivating glimpse into the harsh realities of nature's survival of the fittest.

Would they have survived without intervention? I wonder how many queens don't generally make it, since the video said they can exhaust themselves before the workers hatch. The Paper Wasp must have set up shop elsewhere, after losing two fights and being at the Hornet's mercy both times.

@@ncense1608 channel is named after bees not wasps 🤷‍♂️. Plus those Japanese hornets kill their honey bees, so yeah, Kill 'em. They don't pollinate nearly as much (if at all) as the bees, they're far more aggressive, and they moved into what was meant to be a bird house. It's an easy call.
@arher9598
@arher9598 3 күн бұрын
@@ryang3910 It's because their main role is predatory and pest controllers. I've seen plenty of them hunting pesty larvaes on my garden so I always welcome them. They are gardeners best friend, maybe OP also has a farm?. Though I threw my sandals at a newly built paper wasp because they built it straight at my door 😂. I also have trigona honey bees but they are safe cause its way too small (the size of mosquitos). And plenty of non-honey kind bees also visiting my garden which is not on their menu. And I live in tropical country anyway so we dont have winter and shortages of resources. Plenty of flowers and insects all year round unlike 4 season countries where bees, wasps, hornets become much more aggresive at the late summer preparing for winter and plummeted resources.
