to all those saying they sound the same...chances are because they are the same...he most likely has all those because a giveaway is coming up...there is no other reason a guy who typically plays with maybe 5 or 6 cymbals at the most would need 120....

That's some sponsor promotion. I wonder if the rep from Pasite is like, "I can't believe that guy used them all at once. They were supposed to use them in different configurations to show how they can be used for all styles, not just Jared style." :)

In fairness, they are just about the cheapest line Paiste makes. Compared to a Sabian B8, they sound pretty freakin' good :P Paiste does make higher quality stuff than Sabian and Zildjian; the production is far more consistent, and the sound is more diverse and refined. The guy that actually helped design the Zildjian A Custom line (Possibly K lines as well) just swapped to Paiste. Preference may differ, but Paiste has serious quality, much more than these entry lines show.

All the cymbals sound the same there are no tone differences. Anyone else notice that?

but for the price you pay for a low end paiste pst 5 you could probably buy a sabian xs20 cymbal, which uses the same b20 alloy that all the hhx's, aax's, vault and artisan lines are made of. personally, i'm a huge sabian guy, and i've never been a big fan of paiste for the reason you said, they're too consistent. with sabian hhx's and hh's you're getting a completely unique cymbal with it's own characteristics.

They sound very similar, but I think it's mostly because KZfaq audio quality sucks.

For 120 it really doesn't look as much as I thought it would. :o

Hehe, first I've heard that. Not criticizing, it's just interesting :) Well, metal doesn't necessarily make a cymbal good or bad; You can make a good cymbal from B8 or an inferior one from B20. I prefer consistency, personally. If it's a good quality to start with, you get a consistently good quality, not variations that might make a good cymbal bad. I don't want to spend around $300 for a cymbal that *might* be great or bad. And, if you get a perfect Sabian and it breaks... Ya know.

Of course they're all the same because they all say Paiste PST 5 on them, they all look the same diameter, and they all sound the same (which generally the lower line stamped cymbals do).

i think most of the crashes actually are the same, jared is endorsed by paiste and they probably just dumped their shit and now he's got like 30 of the same PST 5er series crashes :P
