Guido Mista alright * slap * listen up sTopid a electric guitar has electrical parts in it called pick ups to make it sound different when plugged into a amp. It doesn’t have a hole in the middle like an acoustic. A acoustic guitar is a hollow body guitar to make it echo (hence then name acoustic) and you cant plug it into a amp and there is no volume switches or anything like an electric.

Once I played my electric unplugged and my little brother asked why I'm playing my guitar like a Bass...

Hey we got something in common i suck at sheet music and learning by ear is pretty easy with some songs. If anyone could teach us sheet music though you will be a boss!

I started by memorizing what notes on the staff corresponded with the notes on the fretboard. (Guitar uses treble clef, by the way) Just begin with the open strings. Next, figure out the rest of the staff notes. Mnemonics are really helpful. In the meantime, get the note values/rhythms down, they don’t really take long to understand. With the basics down, READ THE SHEET MUSIC VERY SLOWLY! I find it helpful to memorize one or two songs with the sheets in front of you, but you need to bite the bullet and practice new material. It goes without saying that you should learn simple stuff before moving onto advanced pieces. When playing the notes, I find it helpful to stick to the first 5 frets, as beyond that is where the notes begin to repeat. Get whatever notes you have down to muscle memory, where you know what to do when you see the notes on a staff. While this process takes a long time, I think it is very rewarding and improves the connection between you and the guitar. Use the internet to find new music to read. Keep strong!
