The thing about 2008 is that it was okay to kiss other girls if it was for ‘fun’ or men’s gratification, but the uncomfortable silence and the looks on her friend’s and family’s faces really shows that it was not okay to actually want to date those women. “I Kissed A Girl” and ‘The L Word’ were popular, but Prop 8 won in California that year. Restricting gay marriage in one of the most ‘progressive’ states in the US until the Supreme Court ruling in 2015. I feel really bad for this young woman being outed publicly like this. The point of the game as a contestant is testing out how much personal and intimate guilt you can openly admit to, not only in front of the people you'd feel most guilty towards, but an audience of strangers, for a chance at a sum of money that would take you months or years to make. There is no incentive to lie, and that's the point. You're AVOIDING your guilt and shame the entire time while also being irrevocably forced to confront it. It's more appealing to watch than to participate because of the structure, lol. The ones who eagerly play are the types who think facing intense levels of guilt and shame, heightened by that audience, is "easy" or "doable", or they simply don't consider that.

I don't think it's actually that hard to win moment of truth. I think where it does get hard is that they're asking questions that change day to day, and polygraph tests are busted. Asking Conjetta if she regrets getting back with Nick is going to totally depend on how she feels in that moment. You can have doubts but it's truly about how she feels when she's taking the polygraph test. Also, a lot of the questions rely on Nick and her mom's view of her. Yes, it's terrible that she cheated but the show is trying to hold her up to be a saint, as if she doesn't have so many factors in her life that make her flirty. Kissing somebody or wearing sexy clothing (from Nick's perspective) is really not a big deal if you have a relationship built on trust. For people who are allosexual, this just happens sometimes. You can control your behavior but if a man did the exact same thing, he wouldn't be judged as much because "men are more sexual". I've never cheated on a partner. But I think these things can be forgiven, you know? Or just being aware that Conjetta is a very flirty person and deciding whether or not to keep dating her based on that. People are just like that sometimes, and if you want a super committed relationship you need to find somebody who can do that. It seems like Conjetta doesn't want to or can't, so really Nick has to decide whether or not he's okay with that, but there's no need to slutshame her for it.

Just because cheating “happens sometimes” for allosexual people doesn’t make it right. Cheating is one of the worst things you can do in a relationship, 99% of the times it cannot (should not) be forgiven because it exhibits an innate lack of trust, which is the foundation of a relationship. This is different if you’re in a non monogamous relationship, where the rules are different, and if she’s just “naturally flirty” she can seek out a relationship that allows that side of her to thrive. But when you’ve set it up to be exclusive and then your partner violates that, that trust is never gonna be fully recovered. “That’s just the way she is” is not an excuse for shitty behavior. She is an adult. She can either control her impulses, stay single, or find a relationship that fits her desires. This is not to say that she should be slut shamed or that Nick is 100% in the right; neither is true. He seems to be overly controlling, she is allowed to wear whatever she wants. But ffs, break up with your partner if you want to sleep around/flirt. Their relationship seemed like a disaster anyways.

You shouldn't be flirting with other guys if you're in a relationship, cheating isn't okay either, but she seems to be scared of her bf. There may be more to it.

Looking at his reactions, I think we can drop the “may.” Dude can barely control his anger on a national tv broadcast, so I can only imagine what he’s like when no one is watching. There is definitely more to their relationship.
@carpincho1462 жыл бұрын
@@English3Muffin Would you react better being humiliated publicly on a game show? The scolding thing was a red flag but we don't know the whole story. We're pretty much assuming he's a bad guy by his looks. If I admitted to cheating on a show I would probably look anxious too The only way cheating is okay is if its not really cheating. If you're trapped in an abusive relationship and can't leave, if that's the case I wouldn't consider it cheating anyway

regarding the tila tequila thing, im pretty sure she is (or at least was, before her whole republican/conspiracy theorist era) bisexual!! on the reality show she was on it was pretty clear she was gonna choose the last remaining woman over the man, but the producers kinda forced her to choose the guy instead. there's a pretty good video essay on here about the show, dont remember who made it but its a great watch :)
