As a shy person, I really want to know what they mean by “being shy is a superpower.” Cuz he just kept repeating it without ever explaining how a person can say, leverage their shyness. He just wanted to slap a deep fake phrase on a t-shirt to sell it. For a good cause, but feels disingenuous. Also, the only reason he got motivated was because he met his idol by some extreme coincidence? He didn’t actually find it within himself? That’s real encouraging.

For people with social anxiety: yes this video is cringe and it’s not a superpower but you can use being shy to your advantage. Being comfortable with yourself and being alone is really useful as it allows more introspection so you can figure out who you want to be without societal pressure. Also don’t underestimate the power of listening…. So many people will dig their own grave by talking to much and tell you things because they assume you won’t tell anyone. But whilst being shy has it’s benefits I think it’s good to look at what causes your anxiety and get to the root of the issue if it’s holding you back but you don’t need to change who you are
@cloverfieldsandbuttercups2 жыл бұрын
I 100% agree with this. I spent 2 years locked in my room due to social anxiety and depression and more than half of that time was spent trying to make everyone on the outside world happy instead of taking care of myself. When I finally started to enjoy being alone with myself and use it as reflection time rather than some form of punishment or escape, I started to really see myself changing in the best way possible. I finally started discovering who I wanted to be and what I wanted my future to look like which is something I always tried to shove out of my mind as quickly as possible. Without that time for reflection I wouldn’t be where I am now and I am so incredibly happy I spent that time with myself, I’m finally happy to be alive and that is something I never thought I would say. Always remember to keep pushing, as cliche as it is, it does eventually get better. Sometimes it drags on to a point where it feels like it will never end but I promise it does. Stick with it and remember that you are loved no matter what❤️

@windwaker4072 жыл бұрын
There is a problem to be said with how easy it is to convey an intended message to kids, not by how accurate or right the messaging is, but how you portray the people giving the message. The older brother, by all accounts, isn't wrong. Telling kids to neglect all other aspects of their lives in the slim chance they may make a career out of gaming is irresponsible and literally inviting his younger brother to hang out with them is already giving him an open invitation to do something other than game, something I wish I had growing up simply because people would criticize the fact that I played gamed but never invite me to do any sort of alternative. By a lot of accounts, the older brother isn't inherently wrong in where he's coming from, he is just going to read that way to the kids watching because his side is portrayed as aggressive, antagonistic, and mean-spirited. It conveys to kids that he's wrong without them actually having the foresight or mental maturity to actually realize what's being said past all the performative bullying and antagonism, thus conveying the message 'It's okay to spend all your time gaming and neglecting other aspects of your life and if anyone tells you otherwise, as we have clearly just demonstrated, they are wrong and just seeking to bully you'

My very deep and serious analyse of the video: You see the bully only seems to be abusive because we see his constant encouragement from the nerd guy perspective. This poor kid of undetermined age suffers from social anxiety and uses games as a coping mechanism. From his perspective anyone who tries to encourage him to come out of his shell is scary. That's why in his mind even honest encouragement transforms into bullying Now the question is: did Dhar Man finally wrote an intricate and subversive story with an unreliable narrator or maybe it's just bad writing?
