@blake62102 жыл бұрын
Genuinely, I know that if I worked at a movie, I could not care less if someone brings in $1.25 candy instead of spending more than the tickets cost for a popcorn and soda. A theater I used to go to was right next to a dollar tree, too, so I think they knew as well

I worked at a fast food place and we had no management after 4pm (we were open till midnight). One day, someone comes out of the bathroom area to tell us that one bathroom was just like a poop bomb had gone off. Shit everywhere. I was outside on my break so didn't hear about it until I came back in to find someone *mopping the shitty floors* in an attempt to clean it up. It was so bad that whoever exploded had walked out with shit footprints, and this kid was using the mop we would have used in both the lobby and back area to clean it. I called the manager to ask to close early, scolded the kid spreading the shit around with the mop, and a "professional" cleaning crew was called in to clean and sanitize the bathroom and main lobby.

If Dhar Mann were going to do an in-person appearance, surely he'd want to advertise it to get hyped up. Imagine if he were to do something like this but nobody showed up because they weren't advertising it
@AmyMist2 жыл бұрын
Y’know, the video they advertise at the end kind of undermines there whole message. “What happens in the dark alway comes to light, except in this video you can check out right now!”

I literally work at a movie theater, no one gives 2 craps if you sneak food in. in fact we encourage it, the prices for food are so expensive

to answer the question asked by Jarvis in the video, I found dots in Wal-wart, out in the Rio vista area. they sell them in three sizes, the fun sized ones are the ones that end up in snack boxes, the slightly larger ones are given out around holidays, like the one coming up and the biggest ones are often found at parties, like Christmas or random family events.

Only once in my life have I witnessed a movie employee stopping someone from entering with their own snacks. I also happen to know they sued the movie theater afterwards because literally there's nothing wrong with bringing you snacks and apparently the theatre didn't have that "We reserve the right to refuse service bc we don't like your vibe in general and you sneaking snacks in particular"

From what I've read, while it’s not illegal to bring in outside snacks since there’s no federal, state, or city law against it, movie theaters are private businesses that can make their own rules. If they have an anti outside food policy then they can ask a moviegoer to throw out the food; if customers refuse, the theater can legally kick them out for breaking policy.

He’s right, I don’t know the difference between a 6yo and 12yo unless they’re next to each other

Theaters don't exactly search your bags or anything. Sneaking stuff in is pretty easy...heck, I've seen people flat out carry stuff in plain sight and not get called out on it. Heck, even in the vid's over the top comedy exaggeration, the manager was still letting them get away with some pretty transparent lies. That little morality play fails to deliver its message though...The message I saw was "don't be greedy". People kept cutting the big brother breaks: college tuition $ from the parents, his little brother agreeing to keep the stupidity secret and to settle for less than he was promised, and the manager letting him get away with transparent lies. He kept misusing generosity and trying to take more, only to finally get cut off as everyone ran out of patience.

Does anyone else jokingly quote the “what happens in the dark” thing and then realize you’re in real life and nobody gets the reference so you just sound like you’re saying it seriously? Rent free, man.

At this point, the phrase *what happens in the dark, will always come to light* is basically a Dhar Mann cliché.

Movie theatres literally dont care if you don't bring outside food in tho. The other day I went to the movies and brought in a Burger, fries, and drink and didn't even hide it and they didn't care lol

Hello! Movie theater worker here. I'm going to be adding my thoughts: 1. With that obvious beard, I would ask for ID for the senior ticket. 2. How long is this movie line? 3. The kid is right. Snacks are EXPENSIVE. 4. With enough confidence, you don't need a manager. Re: point 1. 5. Yeah, you don't ask what war. This is a weird grilling. Stop playing with your food. 6. WEAKSAUCE POPCORN MACHINE. also yes concessions are expensive re: 3 7. No one is acting like the fucking police about it dear lord 8. Don't touch someone's baby??? 9. People aren't watching *during* the movie. 10. Senior discounts are NOT that much off 💀💀💀
