We already have some videos here on the channel about the Swedish Gripen fighter, showing some of its capabilities and performance in war exercises. This detailed exposition inevitably ends up leading to comparisons with other fighters, such as the French Rafale, another European delta canard. To clarify the differences and advantages of each one, we will make a comparison between the two.

The Royal Thai Air Force is likely to purchase Gripen E in fiscal year 2025.

Good comparison. The numbers for the fuel capacity is wrongly used though; the amount of fuel is insignificant, what's interesting is how far it gets you. The Gripen is way lighter than the Rafale. Range should be a separate point.

This is a much closer match up than most people realise. Also take into account how the French and Swedish pilots are trained. Both Airforces train their pilots to have excellent decision making skills. And, give their pilots the ability to make those decisions. Rather than consider them rivals, consider how well they will complement each other in a High-Low mix. Both are excellent weapons systems!

Did not mention the versatility of gripen like can land on paved road due to shorter distance take off, cheaper cost per hour flight, shorter period to load weapons, & more agile due to delta wing design

Maximum take-off weight: 16,500 kg. Empty weight (8,000kg) + Internal fuel (3,400kg) = 11,400kg. Maximum take-off weight (16,500kg) - 11,400 = 5,100kg external load.
