The fine for not wearing a seat belt is probably not much, but the court costs is what cost so much. Jase just needs to wear his seat belt appropriately. Having it under your arm is ridiculous and unsafe.

My family comes from N.Carolina and I had a cousin that was behind a logging truck. It was told that she was behind a logging truck and the truck stopped abruptly and a log came off and pinned her, to the back seat straight thru her heart!

People think that Minnesota is cold but in the summer it gets hot here, and humid. This is the coolest year i can ever remember and I'm liking it. The land of 10,000 lakes so you know it gets humid here. There are even more swamps and river, creeks.

He has to wear it PROPERLY,having it tucked under armpit is NOT wearing it properly.Wearing it properly prevents you from being ejected in a crash.

The update on Jase is way different. Turns out the LA statute does not stipulate how the seat belt is worn: §295.1. Safety belt use; tags indicating exemption A.(1) Each driver of a passenger car, van, sports utility vehicle, or truck having a gross weight of twenty-six thousand pounds or less in this state shall have a safety belt properly fastened about his or her body at all times when the vehicle is in forward motion.

I am on Jase's side. It shouldn't be up to the state whether or not I buckle myself in in the first place. He was buckled in and tucked under his armpit, sounds like it was a rookie cop out to prove a point. He also has every right as an American to disagree with law enforcement officers and fight his case. I understand wanting to respect what law enforcement officers say and do but they are not always right.

The shoulder strap is designed to protect you from injury. You will projectile! Especially your head. This is crucial for children. It protects your head, neck and from possibly breaking your neck!

@@Commentleaver-c6x I never wore them till I got in my 30’s. I got pulled over once where I had my seatbelt on, but I had the shoulder belt under my shoulder. I showed the cop that I actually had my belt on, and he told me that it’s considered improper use of the safety belt and I got a $50.00 ticket for it.

I have to wear the seat belt under my arm, cause it tries to take out my ear and side of face, I am height challenged! They don't make those seat belts for all heights in a lot of vehicles, I have a van! Even the adjustable ones don't just very much!

The law is "you are to properly wear a seatbelt." But I can alao say , generally when someone challenges a traffic ticket, the Court drops the ticket. Generally because the cops doesn't show up in court.

The seatbelt must be worn as designed to wear appropriately is the law in every state in the USA unless something changed since my retirement. Seatbelt law is there for a reason.

I don't view him this way at all. He doesn't constantly court attention in normal group settings. I think it's more that he was unaware that he was doing anything illegal and it turns out he may not have been. His OCD kicks in and the technicalities matter to him because he is, at heart, very honest & passionately principled. This loophole actually opens up a great public awareness campaign and may help save countless lives.
