Jason Bonham was the first-born child of Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham. During Jason’s childhood, having guests like Paul Rodgers, Jeff Beck & Bev Bevan over was the norm. “They were just friends of dad” he says. Growing up in the Led Zeppelin family “wasn’t as wild as one would think,” he says, with the exception of when Ozzy would visit to hang out with John, and one day resulted in “two drunken men with shot guns shooting trees.” When he was 17 years old, his band Air Race went on tour opening up for Queen. Since his father died when he was so young, the members of Queen took him under their wings and took on the role of introducing him to the world of rock & roll. “They taught me so much about those days of rock & roll; of excess and debauchery.”
In 2007, he was asked by Robert Plant to join Led Zeppelin for a one night only reunion, which he described as an “out of body experience.” He continues to honor his father’s legacy by touring as Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Evening.

I saw him in 89/90 opening for the Cult in Newfoundland Canada with Bonham. I remember my heart dropping into my boots when he walked out on stage with a cast on his arm. He said he was offroading and rolled the vehicle breaking the arm. I thought " how the fuck am I getting a Bonham drum solo now???". Low and behold , he had an octapad set up which he hit with the cast. I never heard a difference between 2 sticks and this "1 stick 1 cast" playing. He was awesome. P.S. the Cult were amazing. Matt Sorum played and was very musical. Great night of music for me.

You're an INSANELY great drummer/human being. The thing about the Seattle sound that most people dont realize is that THE INDUSTRY created that scene. I was a teenager then, I love the bands from Seattle, but I understand it was a constructed scene that those behind the veil created. It was great nonetheless.....

hey Jason my name is Lanny i met you after your show w Jimmy in austin and we sat together in the double tree bar at the hotel as jimmy was sitting w ronnie lane in the restaurant and we were the same age and you told me great stories one being how plant couldnt do some of the songs Jimmy wanted to do thats why yall had that plant look alike who actually could do them for outrider and you also told me how he was being a prick and wanted his drummer at the time tony thompkins to be the drummer for the tour and told me it was probably not a good idea r now to go down and bother Jimmy because of what Ronnie may he rip so i listened and found you to be a great bloke to hang w i had a chance before that as Jimmy was always my favorite guitar player not to mention i believe it was him and your dad who went w jimmy instead of as usual drummers go w the bass player but i had a chance before that to meet him at a different hotel la Mansion' when he came in there to where my wife was the bartender she was actually w me when we met you but we kind of left her out as i was intent on listening to you as we really hit it off anyway all i had at the time was a moped that i jumped on and hauled ass but was too late anyway what im getting at is im still in great vocal shape and can do all zepellin but i have great songs of my own and would love nothing more to jam w you its funny but not that we both had the same length hair back then and now it looks like we have the same still or lack thereof lol my email is lanseriouspro@gmail.com i hope we can revisit sometime in the future and pick up where we left off i believe its somehow destiny

You don't get the gig as the drummer for UFO , Foreigner , BCC , Sammy Hagar , Paul Rodgers etc because people like your name. Jason is a good rock drummer and has been since he was 18 years old

You know he gets some residuals from Led Zepplin so why doesn't he spend a few quid to have the old grave taken care of? It's headed towards disrepair.
