Years after the events of The Bourne Ultimatum, former CIA assassin Jason Bourne (Matt Damon) resurfaces just as his former employers are implementing a new program aimed at hunting him down. I wouldn't say Matt Damon phoned it in. He was just directionless. They made up the screenplay as they went on this one like Paul Greengrass did with his films outside the original Bourne trilogy. It severely backfired here since a series like Bourne involving spies and government conspiracies you need a finished script from the beginning of production. Bourne is not Mission: Impossible and for some reason Paul Greengrass thought he could do things the way Tom Cruise does it with his spy film series.

The original trilogy's quality will never be recaptured without the heated partnership of Paul Greengrass and Tony Gilroy. When they split to do their next Bourne films on their own the magic was gone. I will say The Bourne Legacy was the better continuation after Ultimatum's ending than Jason Bourne was. With the pacing issues, the exposition scenes taking too much of the runtime, and over reliance on Bourne Ultimatum references aside The Bourne Legacy did feel like it had direction and more like a proper Bourne movie, despite ironically without Matt Damon.

Edward Bedor I fully agree man, the thing that Legacy lacked was the one on one fight scene of Cross vs the Assassin. They set it up towards the end and ruined it with that ending(him falling off a bike and breaking his neck). That was the only negative thing I have about Legacy

I'd like to think she was already in the room, and did hear the conversation. Killing TLJ served her two purposes - saving Bourne, and that she could fill the vacated position (director/ whatever-you-may-call). Moreover, she could also claim the credit of Bourne 'coming in' (as evident at the end of the movie, what exactly she was planning).

32 kills? We see the Professor & 3 henchmen in Identity. Just the 1 ex-Treadstone guy in Supremacy. Just Desh in Ultimatum & his first kill. So Jason Bourne had 25 (+ Neski & wife) confirmed kills before going rogue between 98 & 02. That's an average of 6 kills a year.

Priorities pure and simple. He had to deal with the charging threat that was the aide with the gun. As a result he got shot in the back. It worked out for him but the alternative was he would have been shot in the back by the aide.

Bourne 5 sucked, where the fuck is Pam Landy and Noah Voeson? RIP Bourne Trilogy (2002-2007) They screwed up the storyline by replacing every major role with Big Name actors. WTF happened to this once amazing franchise?

I'll admit Bourne 5 wasn't as good as Supremacy and Ultimatum, but it was still a decent thriller that kept the character fresh and it was slightly better than Identity I thought and no point in comparing it to Legacy. I hope Damon and Greengrass return for one more movie.

This movie was horrible and ignored character development. Compare this to his interaction with Abbott in supremacy. Somewhere between the 3rd and 5th movie he went from strategic mastermind to just some thug always behind the 8 ball.

Justin Lynch what are you talking about? During Abbott scene Bourne's intention was exposing him. This scene is completely different, here Bourne is really thinking about murdering him, because he is sick of it at this point.

I disagree. I felt he was among the more memorable of the CIA agency heads in the Bourne Films. Chris Cooper was the most emotional and angry, Brian Cox was great as the sleezy embezzler, David Strathairn, Albert Finney, and Edward Norton were more of the same without anything being too distinctive about their characters. Tommy Lee Jones on the other hand, I don't know if it is just the way he speaks, but I felt he gave more personality and dimension to his character even though he could have been just another carbon copy. He felt the most threatening to me.

They tried so hard to dim this scene enough to disquise both the actors ages... Damon is overweight and too old... Tommy Lee Jones had to run away from an old folks home to do this scene... Ive never seen so many leather bags under just TWO eyes.
