Isbell's songs are pure genius, plain and simple. He is as good as they get.

this is probably the classiest, most elegant song that falls into the "protest/tribute" category that I've ever heard. IMO, a beautifully told story is always more evocative & immortalizing than heavy-handed, bloviating, emotive commentary -- the mistake most songwriters make when addressing a subject like this.......fine work, mr. isbell.

sad song but this is just proof that there are great singer songwriters out there. I would like to see someone like jason mraz write something remotely as good as this. thanks jason!
