That is the Rabbit hole of a Jason Isbell lyric. He has this other song called River . There is a line in there goes something like, " The river is my savior, she is running to the sea. And to reach her destination is to simply cease to be. And running till you're nothing Sounds alot like being free So I'll lay myself inside her And let her carry me." The song dosnt hit for me entirely but this line.. man that line is poetry. if I were to tattoo something or aspire to live my life in a certain way it would be to run till I'm nothing then simply cease to be. Until then I simply let the river carry me. Woo! Fuck that line gets me evrytime.

And she is the one who co-founded The Highwomen in addition to her own band and being in The 400 Unit. Take your troglodyte ass back to the 18th century.

People, chill out about this. When it’s a Jason concert, they don’t mention Amanda though she’s part of the 400 Unit his group (though Trevor does mention her). When it’s an Amanda show or a Highway Women concert, they dont mention Jason, though he also participates in both groups. They do often mention and talk to each other between songs when performing together.

Jason I have covered 80% of your songs however I know you got your inspiration for this song being on the Greek island of Hydra. Guess what. I was there last week being in the middle of working on the song. On the ferry back to Athens I read the interview about your Hydra experience. Anyway, boring story but for me worth a lot.
