'Kept the Holy Ghost Fire 🔥' absolutely love it. Jason Isbell is an American Treasure. We love him down here in Nashville.

Jason Isbell is amazing. Everytime I hear him talk I am completely in awe of his profound understanding of the human condition. The way he understands music adds more understanding to why he writes songs that speak to the soul of a person. There is no way for me to pick my favorite song. There are too many favorites. The love story isn't so bad either...

This was fantastic. Jason is an unbelievable talent but also is so down to earth and smart and funny. I'm also always tickled that other musicians and writers and actors and other creatives all can obsess about and analyze his songs like I do.

Thank you Jason Isbell for once again making my life better! I just happened upon this incredible podcast watching Jason interviews. My husband and I had a long drive ahead of us the next day so I downloaded 10 hours worth of Metaphysical Milkshake. Our minds were blown and enlightened by the wonderful and deep discussions. Thank you Reza and Rainn for putting this content out into our world that so desperately needs it. We are true devotees and will be singing your praises to all who will listen.

As interesting as the entire conversation was, the best moment belongs to Rainn for the “Hot house of the yellow orchid” comment. He’s actually magic

Thank you, Rainn and Reza, for a great interview! Jason, you ask what is right and what is wrong.... Years ago, my young daughter was visiting my parents and asked my Muslim father.... "Jedu, how do i know if something i do is a sin?" He answered.... "It is fairly simple. If it causes harm to you, or to someone else, it is a sin." Sometimes the simplest answers are the best.

Listen and feel your heartbeat and beat in a dark quiet room. Put yourself in a cave with the fire going and the sounds of nature. It's the original music. Still magic in a way but i feel the root of it is evident and it's evolution is in line with our own

Excellent! I am Druidic, and believe in a source called the Awen. Creative Rays of inspiration, the Druidic "Holy Spirit" :)

The idea of a holy Spirit has been around a lot longer than many religions from the holy Spirit or great spirit of multiple native American tribes as well as native tribes around the world, And if we're talking about holy spiritual fire one of the primary sources would be Hestia of Greek myth or the sacral fire just some random thoughts

I love this. I believe music has a lot in common with poetry, and it seems to me that , speak in form of a " song" it's something that reachs a more deep level of listening, as if your heart can connect with it more than just only the brain, cause also the music can emphatize feelings, altrought his notes, so Rainn I love this, I suggest to do an interview related to dance ( I am a figure skater) so movement and music also has a kind of unknown effect in us human, and I would love to see that content in here. SUCH A GOOD CONTENT GUYS! I LOVE YOU DEEPLY RAINN♥ PS:( I ALSO SHARE THE BELIEVE OF THAT THEY NEED SOMEONE OPPOSITE TO LEO ha ha CAUSE RAINN YOU'RE GOD DAMN PRETTY AND TALENTED TOO! HA HA ;) But let's pray we want to see you in a Scorsese's film too! ps2: In answer to your question Reza: Rainn inspires me ha ha :) And this song goes dedicated to Rainn kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fcmoqZqalZjQiJc.html

You digress, though, the issue prefaced is the mystery of music:?music is inclusive that poetry as well as a blend of non-rhetorical instruments= the question being where it’s origins once composed can be audited from( preposition coda, incorrect sourcing of structural axiomatics): DID THE MELODICAL INSTRUMENTATION COME FIRST OR A STORYLINE ?

There is no doubt the work invested to hone his skills, talent involves, however, for an investment toward the preface here I would invest that 3 or 4 of Jason’s creations mystically employ storylines from my portfolio: this and other cosmic mysteries can be back-azimuthed to Ryan Adams.

It's quite obvious to most of us that people like Jason, Dylan and a few others have a special gift which eludes the rest of us. When he talks about Black people, they're much more Spiritual and advanced in many ways. Listen to Robert Johnson or Blind Willy Johnson. Chicken skin!!

Great discussion there at the beginning about Jason’s music and how to categorize the genre. Having twang doesn’t make it country. It’s much too thoughtful and introspective and sad to fit into the glove of country. Some of the best writing out there at the moment.

There's a lot of thoughtful introspective sad country music throughout the genre's history.......

@@chadmichael03 I can’t disagree with that. Looking back at my original comment, I’d say it in itself wasn’t that thoughtful. There is great music in every genre. I still would never feel comfortable hearing JI on a country radio station, though. For whatever reason

Elliott Smith, John Moreland, Conor Oberst, and Jason Isbell…. easily my personal biggest influences when it comes to songwriting. I’d throw Chris Knight in there as well. Total sad sack southerner.
