Yes, but it wasn't an asspull. Both him and the audience knew he would be ressurrected by the lazarus pit. It was all a part of their plan

Ok..but Bruce has died several times as well, so Jason sacrificing himself just seems a bit odd. I don’t really understand the justification for RedHood to make the sacrifice.

To be fair the first time fans voted for that death and that was at least 1 or 2 generations prior to the current one where this happens again. Personally I like the guy, and if given a good writer his story I'd say would be on par with spiderman being taught by wolverine. But then I think on how any character or sidekick surrounding Batman just equals death bcus they've been killing him off a lot more recently, I think it's best they either stay out of Gotham or do what Trunks did in DBS and go somewhere else. Gotham reminds of LA at its peak of messed up things.
