@@Jasonoid Exceptionally good review - very thorough. Your rating system is impressive. The way the Jackery has you attach their solar panels seems odd to me compared to what most stationary systems do. But outside of that, this seems to be the best option for ensuring you can pump water from a deep well in case of a power outage. With this, food/seeds, and a wood cook stove, you can be insulated from what may happen. Special request: if a person doesn't have a smart phone, is there another way to adjust the settings for slow charging to increase battery life?

I wanted to thank you for doing the UPS test with the computer under a high computing load. Most creators do this test with the computer at an idle desktop where it’s only drawing a few watts. In that mode, you can kill the power for perhaps 100ms without the computer going down. Under high computing load it’s more like 15-20 ms. Great work!

Oh No! Just when I decide to get the Ecoflow Delta 2 Max, or the Bluetti A300, Jackery comes out with a better power station. 🤣 You gave the Jackery an A score, the Bluetti A300 an A-, and the Ecoflow a B-. You have the most detailed videos, and an excellent grading system, so I trust your opinion! I have enough money saved up now, so I've got to make a decision!! I guess I'm getting the Jackery!! Don't fall for the rating he gave. I'm sure it works well, but Jackery is on my do not buy list permanently. I just cannot trust them, as they are so far behind their competitors. And they sold their inferior power stations for years at premium prices, simply fooling the many uninformed people who are obviously everywhere. Plus, they are butt ugly, unless you are an Astros or Broncos fan, I guess.

It seems like a nice package. Comparing this to EcoFlow Delta pro would be interesting. I am looking for emergency backup going to a generator inlet in the house for 120v breakers. This would be more portable and almost as much power for short periods of power outage. Also being able to take it camping makes it very useful.

Thanks for adding the refrig runtime test (100% to "zero") to your testing routine! I find it very helpful since I have an older refrig, and this allows me to "loosely calibrate" my usage across brands/units you review.

Fantastic clip mate. In Australia we use 50 amp Anderson plugs for much of our 12v gear. I hope in the future they include anderson connectors for the Australian versions.

Wow! Never thought I would say that about a Jackery. These things are really getting better quickly. I've been running an AC 200 Max for a little over year and definitely would have purchased two of these last year instead and installed a 6 or 10 circuit transfer switch instead of a 4 circuit switch, but that's technology and how you learn.

Yeah, I feel the same way. I have learned so much in the last few years. If I had this same knowledge a couple years ago I'd take a slightly different path....but technology wasn't NEARLY as good 2 years ago. I started with a 6 circuit transfer switch and I just installed a 10 circuit transfer switch. It allows me to now power different circuits when needed and will support 240v down the road.

Great review as always. Good to see they are now caught up with the competition and got a really good score but I don't see any standout features. Not surprising since Jackery seems to be focused on solid, not flashy stuff.

Very nice in depth review. Nice to see Jackery switch over to the LifePO4 batteries and having wheels is nice. I wonder how this power station stacks up to the Allpowers R2500 and Allpowers R3500. All of these power stations seem to be getting better and better.

Two of these along with the split phase box is the cheapest all in one solar generator duo to give you 6KV split phase. I'm pretty sure that the UPS function would not translate over to operation while in the split phase configuration as there is no way that both legs would switch at the same time (unless they are using solid state relays and those are also tied together for split phase) using separate mechanical relays. Jackery may be late to the LFP party, but their new LFP offerings are certainly as good if not better than the big 2's offerings. And for all those wanting more DC, by a Pecron! Great review! Maybe someday, Jackery will actually adopt something other than those pesky 5520 (??) jacks for solar and DC input!

I would have loved to test split phase UPS mode, but I only got one of them to test haha. The solar input ports are '8020mm adapters', they are slightly bigger than Bluetti '7909mm adapters'. I also agree that these units allow of affordable 240v output!

thanks for the review, hope you got to have the power station in for review, or did you have to buy it to get to review it? looks like this power station has almost all the features, except a high power solar input. since you did the radio test twice, looks like both while on DC output and AC output there is interference. although wondering who try and use a radio so close to a power station like that. but you are adding all the different tests people are suggesting, so very detailed work.

I've never liked Jackery, but this is a big improvement EXCEPT the solar input, and I am surprised you didn't knock it for that. That alone makes it a big "no" for me. Great review as usual though.

Their inability to ditch the 8mm solar inputs, not incorporate LIFEPO4 till 2023 and still sell their older NMC models that charge super slow and have very little solar input at still a high price compared to the market is for sure there demise. On the plus side at least they put out a quality made product and their Customer support trumps Bluetti.

@@grindychum I agree! In my experience All of the brands I have (ecoflow, bluetti, pecron) are of comparable quality if not better. But you are right CS is sparse. And the charging OMG my 240 took 6 hours or more to charge that thing. Glad I found ecoflow . Ecoflow really got me into Sogens

As always fantastic job on the video. Does the 30 amp RV plug actually out put 30 amps? I agree with you about the 12V cigarette plug I wish they would install more of them. I have a lot of equipment that I use that plug for like my cpap, and fans for example. This is where my old inergy Kodiak shines even though the plug is not regulated. Interestingly though, it does not effect my cpap at all, after all this years.

The inverter is good for a total of 3000 watts continous, or only 25 amps @ 120v. The full 30 amps would be 3600 watts output. The Bluetti AC200MAX and Anker Solix F2000 also have the same '30 amp RV port' but can only supply the wattage of their respective inverters.

Thanks for such an awesome and in-depth video! I've been watching a lot of videos on your channel about solar and have learned a lot! On quick question I had, and I'm probably miss understanding it is: At 13:20 - It shows 12amps max. But at 18:10 you have 4 of the 200W Renogy panels connected. 2x in series, then those 2 that are in a series linked in parallel. Wouldn't that bump those panels up to around 20amps because of it being in parallel, causing a problem with the 12amp max on the Jackery? I know I'm missing something here. I have this Jackery model coming in and was planning to do eight 200W Eco Worthy panels using the same method you did. 4 per side with 2 in series and those 2 linked in parallel, then plugged into one of the ports.

The power station will limit the amperage automatically. The only thing you need to worry about is having a voltage thats too high. If you voltage stays under 60V, you'll be fine.

Yeah, I agree that the 8020 adapters aren't meant for quite this much power. It would be better to have XT90 or dual XT60s.

@@Jasonoid I picked a P2001 derivative over a year ago (which has an F rating now ☹), because it uses an Anderson Powerpole connector. I already had a bunch of adapters and cables from ham radio, along with a crimper tool and connectors to make more. Also, my variant of P2001 (Eenour) AC charges at 1100W, 0-100% in around 2 hours, the spreadsheet says it needs more than 3 hours. I also used it with solar connected 24/7 for over a month without issue, though never drained it to 0% during that.

The 12v splitter can be purchased HERE: amzn.to/45lP7gK The Jackery 3000 Pro is basically this same unit as this BUT it has lithium NMC batteries that have more capacity vs LFP batteries that have 2042wh. So the main difference between the two is battery chemistry and the size of the internal battery. You have a tradeoff of battery lifespan/safety VS weight and capacity.

Not bad. I do not like that the 2 solar inputs are paralleled to each other for one charge controller. I am sure they did that to save money. I do not remember if the ecoflow delta 2 max are that way or not. Other than that, it seems like a good unit.

Great point, JW! The EcoFlow Delta 2 Max (and the new upcoming UGREEN 2000wh unit), both have individual charge controllers for each input. The EcoFlow gets 1000w peak, the UGREEN gets 1200w peak and both have 5 yr warranties. Decisions, decisions!

Of course Jackery has to rate the battery to 70% to make it difficult to compare to other brands. Even though we don’t really know if ANY of the ratings are accurate since we haven’t gotten to the theoretical number of cycles yet.

These are solar panels that have a lower VOC so you can connect three of these in series on the power station and stay under 60v total: amzn.to/4bhpwtn You'd want to plug one set of panels into one charging port, and another set of panels into the second charging port. You could purchase 6 of these panels for a total of 1080 watts of solar charging.

As long as you dont wire them in series you'll be good with those two panels. The hardest part is adapting from MC4 to their proprietary 8020mm adapter.

Usually a laptop charger will put out 18 to 20 volts. If the adapter fits I don't see why it wouldn't work. You'd just have to test.

Can you give us noise levels at various loads 10, 25, 50, 75, 100% and after 30min of running at those loads? Does your oscilloscope support measuring the actual UPS transfer time? Really like your real world UPS test. A proper UPS for a computer should never cause it to restart, so this one is impressive.

It's impossible for me to test every scenario. The current tests I complete on the power station already take over 40 hours. My current oscilloscope doesn't track that, but I'm looking at upgrading soon. The power station is VERY quiet most of the time. It has large fans that spin at low RPM until you start pulling over 2000 watts, then they spin up louder. Only at the full 3000 wattage do the fans get 53db loud.

@@Jasonoid Yeah, I understand that you can't test everything. Just an idea for future reviews. :) The ATX standard hold up time for a computer power supply is less than 17ms. Anything more than 17ms and most desktops will likely reboot. So a worst case transfer time measurement would be very welcome, but I'm sure these kind of oscilloscopes aren't cheap. I know you are reviewing the Anker C1000 according to your sheet. I bought the C1000 and the noise of the thing drives me mad. The three high speed 60mm fans kick on with a 600W load revving up and down randomly sounding like an old computer fan past its prime. After about 30min with this load the fans spin fast and sound like a hair dryer. I'd love to hear your experience with it.

The Delta Pro offers a larger battery, larger inverter and more solar input.

Size and weight are a big factor that you don’t take into account. I would rather have a smaller EcoFlow Delta 2 Max that has a smaller footprint and is considerably lighter. Trying to get this into and out of a car or RV will require 2 people if you don’t want to hurt your back. I think you need to factor in size and weight into your spreadsheet.

Thanks for checking out the video Gary. In my opinion, size and weight preference are completely up to the purchaser and the actual use case of the power station. Sitting at home in a dual 240v setup, the wheels and handles work great. For an RV setup, this might be a little heavy, but how often would you be moving it around once it's there? Often people will go with the EcoFlow Delta Pro or the AC300 models for their RVs which are much larger and heavier than this one. This one does have a 3000w inverter and that's why the size is bigger. I try to stick to performance requirements on the grading sheet so it the score doesn't get in the way of different use cases.

I think size and weight is very important in the selection of a solar generator. If you don’t consider it in your grading, you are not providing all of the information necessary to make a selection. I respectfully disagree and feel it is very important and should be included in the grading of your spreadsheet. I hope others will “weigh in” on this.

@@gary860 unfortunately a couple weeks ago when I asked for specific feedback about the new 2.0 grading system, over 200+ people provided feedback but with very little discussion about weight and size. I don't think there is an accurate way to judge that category. Most of these LFP units are within 10 to 15 pounds of each other. I'm open to making the change if it makes sense so please provide the exact grading aspect you'd use that is measurable and won't hinder a power station. You have a good point. Perhaps if you add two more columns on your spreadsheet with weight and size, it would help the listener make a more informed decision.

I miss a monitoring system with history and the possibility to connect, monitoring and setting Power Station from anywhere with internet - this should be the common standard nowadays for all Power stations, something like Solar Assistant or VRM portal, and I would like the possibility of monitoring for online and offline mode, where in offline mode the data would be stored in internal memory and in the next online mode the offline data with usage would be automatically transferred to the monitoring system itself. Hopefully some Portable Solar Station will have this functionality someday. Or at least have the possibility to connect to a Solar Assistant like the All-In-One inverters have. Or I would like to be able to connect this Portable Solar Station to the popular Home Assistant where it could be used for automation and monitoring with history from anywhere I can connect to the internet. In Home Assistant there is a ready-made solar monitoring environment where all it needs is data from any Solar System to be delivered to it. This and similar features should be the natural standard for all Portable Solar Stations and systems nowadays, even for small, medium and large ones.

This one does allow you to connect to it anywhere in the world if it's connected to your home Wifi network, however it doesn't do the data logging as you mentioned. That would be excellent to see stored solar input and past power usage.

@@Jasonoid I commented this on many reviews of similar Solar Stations because I really miss this on all of them and hope that some manufacturer will read this and recognize this as a good idea and opportunity to do something extra against competitors and when one manufacturer would come up with offline/online monitoring with history on Portable Solar Stations, the others would follow because they would not be left behind.

all these numbers are like the estimated gas mileage sticker on a new car. So many variables. What is never brought up on the subject of "how long can it run...." is how to maximize that time. Lets talk fridges, a FULL fridge and a FULL freezer will cycle on and off much less than a fridge full of air and a couple beers and old pizza. Just filling the fridge and freezer with water containers will store the cold energy. Air wont hold cold. Thermal mass is the ticket. When water bottles freeze, move them down to the fridge and move the liquid water bottles in the fridge to the freezer. Also the obvious things like dont be opening the door every time you walk past. Figure out what you want before you open the door. Also, turn the temp up a little. Your mayo and cheese will be fine at upper 40s to low 50s. The less it cycles the longer the juice lasts. And finally, eat the food that will go bad the soonest first. America is full of at least 3 generations of dumb school children these days, I hope you arent one of them when push comes to shove.

I'm familiar with power saving techniques while using fridges since I run DC fridges while camping. I try to keep power usage to a minimum to allow for the longest runtime on my batteries. These videos are too long to fit in any extra tips. The average view duration is around 7 minutes and the video is around 25 to 30 minutes long... That means most poeple don't even watch the whole video so why make it longer?

IDEA: Either video or content or both with strategies for using a battery backup that isn't powerful enough to run your whole house at once. The most critical tips would be how long and how often to move the generator to your refrigerator/freezer and freezer. I've pondered the best strategy for a power outage. My thought is to have one 2000 Explorer on the porch being charged by 6 solar panels while the other one is inside alternately provided power for whatever I need right then + keeping the refrigerator-freezer cold enough. Then at night, I could have one running the freezer in another room. First thing in the morning, hook them together to pump water. Then put the other one on the porch to charge with the solar panels. The uncontrollable variable would be days without sun. Or days with rain. Did Jackery say their solar panels are NOT waterproof?

60 volts on the solar input is NOT acceptable for a larger system that can be expanded plus the plug that they use. Unacceptable

All of these companies are doing the 60v cutoff now 😥 It's appears to be a safety issue since above 60vdc is where your body will conduct the electricity. Bluetti appears to be the only company that will do 150voc, and only on their very large units, as the AC180 now has a 60v cutoff too. I am testing the Oupes Mega 3 currently that has 150voc! Good news there.

FINALLY! I had absolutely no idea why people were buying Jackery's all this time. I guess a lot of really uninformed buyers who were influenced by KZfaq promotions helped give them enough capital to develop an LFP version. They got very lucky, because they were miles behind their competition. I wish them continued luck- But I will not buy that brand. There are several excellent brands at the same price, and they have already been doing this for years now.

I agree, Jackery is a little late to the game, but at least the upgrades on this model put it head to head with all the other brands like Anker, EcoFlow, and Bluetti. While on sale it's priced well at $0.90 per wh but I'm guessing it won't be on sale that often. I try to not have any bias towards any brand since competition like this only benefits the purchaser down the road :) (better features at a better price)

@@Jasonoid Were they running the early Black Friday promotion when you priced that? They told me there was a 30 day guarantee that if the Black Friday promotion was lower, they would refund the difference. But it stayed the same price (which is a pretty big discount off the retail price).

It got 87% of the advertised capacity over the AC capacity test and 89% of the advertised over the DC capacity test. How is that a fail? Those are great numbers.

All 2000wh devices run a fridge for 24 hours or so, go watch the reviews on the Delta 2 Max, Anker Solix F2000, Bluetti AC200Max.... I'm not biased to one brand or another, I just show the performance numbers. I'm not a shill either...

To be honest I will never pick a Jackery ever. I know that is probably my lose, but just how I feel. For ages they sat around doing nothing to step into the LFP world while still charging way too much for their dinosaur units. Trying to live off their reputation and take people's money for inferior products. Personally I view the company in a very bad light and like I said maybe I'm missing out on good units, but I will never give them my money.

Another well informed person! I feel exactly the same way you do. Jackery is dead to me, because of their tactics and lack of innovation. Great for them that they FINALLY produced a contemporary unit. Far too late. Their reputation is shot.
