Every time I hear the old electric clippers turn on it reminds me of my father cutting our hair. I still have his barber chair and equipment from the 1960's. Still all original....even the leather strap to sharpen blades. Your videos take me back to great memories of my dad.

As a barber I love to visit different barbers in different countries where I’ll get shaves and haircuts all the way. I prefer older traditional shops with older barbers. It’s a great experience - even with language barriers. Keep up the great series, I wonder what happens next...

Jason... Nice story .. Great haircut ! Suits you well.. Nice visit experience you had .. I have and used to wear my hair like yours , same style.. same type of hair... Now I have a similar story / experience like you. Needed a haircut and there was a small hair shop at the end of this convenient store mini plaza I'd stop by for beer. So procrastinating getting a haircut it got too long, so one evening after work , the barber shop was closed , I stopped , got my beer and coffee and decided to try this shop for a haircut, I walked in and these 2 elderly gray haired pleasingly plump ladies greeted me.. Now the sign said men women's and kids cuts, but it was obvious I was in your typical grandma beauty shop .. Flowered wallpaper dated decor and equipment domed hair dryers .. The one lady was the owner and said she's been doing hair for almost 60 years as well and cutting men's hair too. I figured what the hell its just a short order haircut trim I'm really in need of so I took her offer of a haircut.. First, the other woman shampooed my hair.. I wasn't expecting to get my hair washed and I've never had my hair washed in a shop before let alone in a beauty shop so it kind of took me by surprise ..Like I said the place had dated equipment and wasn't very masculine in decor, I remember the not so masculine long light blue plastic cape with a bit of paisley design she put on me to wash my hair..the shampooing sinks were a hideous bright pink and the way the plumbing looked, the hoses for the sprayer were hooked to the wall.,old school shop. the woman washing my hair was really nice, I was rather antsy in the chair and a little embarrassed being a 34 yr old guy getting his hair washed in a beauty shop.. She tried conversing over the loud water around my head and I remember her telling me to keep my head all the way back.. After that , the owner cut my hair, we talked about her life as a hairdresser how she looks forward everyday going to the shop and also my line of work in finance .. She used a number 2 on my sides and left the top long , great work with clippers and scissors. When she was done , her helper took me back to the sink , she rinsed out the loose hairs and gave me another shampooing, this time a bit longer and very firm.. I was more relaxed in the shampooing chair this time, i kept my head all the way back, shut my eyes this time and enjoyed the feeling of the lather being massaged on my head and the pressure from the hose sprayer with warm water on my head. After that they dried and styled my hair combing it back like yours .. All for $8 !!! I felt bad but they said that's what they charge the men including the shampooing .. A nice but different experience with a 60 yr seasoned woman barber/ hairdresser ..

I watched tons and tons of videos (seems like hundreds), before I landed upon one before this from another older gentleman who spoke his mind in politics and life, much like any other Kansan. I am from El Dorado, fairly close to Moundridge. This video is similar to the past gentleman in the fact that he will say what he wants. At some point you must have learned to listen more and speak less hahaha. Proud of you! I think people in Kansas must be so bored that they think of creative ways to make money, I can name dozens of youtubers with multi-million subscribers that come from Kansas. You will get there also.
