Hiking the Rocky Mountain Trail Loop!

5 ай бұрынThis weekend I headed up to Unicoi Gap and did the Rocky Mountain Loop. This is a loop that takes the Rocky Mountain Trail from the Appalachian Trail down to a forest road, then back to Indian Grave Gap to pickup the AT for the return trip to Unicoi. The route is roughly 5.1 miles but it does have some significant climbing. Which is fine as these short, Winter days aren't doing my body any good!

I did this hike in the Spring and the Trillium were bloomed out everywhere on the Rocky Mountain Trail. It was beautiful.

Nice! Another good place for them is on the Duncan Ridge Trail between Wolfpen and Blood.
