Okay, but these judges don’t know anything about string instruments. The cellist and violinist were both very good in terms of tone, intonation, and technique. They don’t need to work on their playing, they need to work on their concept and stage executions. They’ve been playing their instruments for a very long time and It would feel so hurtful to hear “you need to work on your playing.” Smh the judges shouldn’t be critiquing something that they have no experience in.

I think the cellist was good but not the violinist. The violinist hit the right notes but the bowing sounds a bit too stiff to me.

Mei Yen Wong well the piece that they were playing was Czardas, and it’s basically staccato at the place where’s she was playing, so it’s supposed to be that way, it’s not stiff, it’s more of having the intentional articulation. She was loose when she flung her bow up, so you could tell that she had control when transferring.

I agree with the judges, they should have highlighted their playing more. Now if they do difficult dance moves while playing difficult pieces... that could take them to the next level.
