Eminem's verses were more complex speaking strictly from a lyrical perspective. The rhyme schemes in the first verse are untouchable! Also this was originally a song by Royce Da 5'9" with Eminem but it was scrapped because the record label Royce was on at the time only allowed one song with both of them on it, they would only clear one, and they picked another more mainstream sounding track called Rock City. Later Jay wanted to have Eminem on a track and Em asked Royce if he could remove his verses and hand the song to Jay. What makes it more impressive is those Eminem verses remained on the song, Jay got the track with the slots for him to rap in, and could've re-written his verses any number of times to one up Eminem but he didn't. Also Eminem produced the beat for Renegade himself, fun fact.

Interestingly, this beat was originally produced by Em for Royce but then Jay wanted it, since Royce saw that collab as an amazing opportunity for Em and that it would do more for Em than keeping the track would do for himself, he let it go. He did still use it and release his own song including Em's verses.

I am not writing this to offend anyone just for a fact. This track was actually officially Eminems , he produced the beat and was suppose to be a track between EM and Royce 5'9 but Jay-Z called EM and told him he needs a beat/song like right now and EM deleted Royces verse of the song and on his verse he mentions Royce name so he change that part also and send the track to Jay and thats how it became Jay and EM when the song went on to Jay-z album "The Blueprint" . But never the less , song is absolute flames both of them killed it . Royces verse that was deleted is also absolute fire I dont know if they have it on utube but you can def find it somewhere :)

I’d like to see you guys do some classic 80s Hip Hop. Ultramagnetic MCs or some G Rap, Big Daddy Kane, Public Enemy etc. also some Bone Thugs N Harmony, not 80s but original AF

Do Blueprint 2!!!! Everyone thought Nas won with Ether but forgot about Jay-Zs reply with the Blueprint 2 track. Ended the Nas beef with no doubt. Love Nas though.

What's crazy is this track was originally Royce Da 5'9 and Eminem. Royce got taken off and Jay put on. The original is out there to hear.

This was produced by Eminem btw and Em’s verses stayed the same when he sent the song to Jay. Jay wrote his verses around Em’s since this song was originally a Royce and Eminem song. They just took Royce’s verses off and Jay added his.
