When the celtics shoot a lot of threes: "live by three die by three". When they don't "they didn't get enough threes up". When they win by shooting threes "Joe needs to find other ways to win, this isn't sustainable". When the other coach literally copies Joe's scheme and makes a conscious effort to shoot as many threes as possible"wow he's a genius"... its straight up comedy,

eric sporlstra is a genius because of his constant in game adjustments, he quite literally made great teams crumble because of zone defense because the coach didn’t know how to adjust to zone (Celtics last year in at least one game) the game plan wasn’t to just jack up threes but to use the Celtics defense to their advantage, drop coverage leads to more open threes, a great coach would see the Miami Heat torching from three at half, and decide to start switching instead, but Joe didn’t and that shows his inability to adjust on the fly, which also happens on offense.

@@zachwexler11 you mean the zone defenses he always plays? That wasn’t for the Celtics that’s what the heat do. I’m not saying spoe isn’t a great coach, I’m pointing out how rediculouss the Joe hate is. This game wasn’t about Joe, it was about outlier bad games from 3 of his 5 starters and his entire bench combined with spoe getting great outlier performances from non three shooters.

@@nickgilday8946 Joe has been shown to not be able to do in game adjustments, and also he doesn’t call timeouts to stop runs from happening to freeze players that are heating up. Obviously he’s going to look even worse against 1 of the best coaches of all time like spo, but most coaches in the league look bad against Spos offensive and defensive plans so it’s hard to fault him for that specifically. But you can fault him for not being able to do in game adjustments, it wasn’t an outlier game from Porzingis, spo game planed so he wouldn’t be able to get the looks he’s used to. Making him uncomfortable, spo was switch heavy giving up less three point shots then the game before, Joe should of adjusted to that but never did.

@@zachwexler11 yea? what adjustment? If players go over screens your offense is supposed to attack otherwise your forcing threes. 3-2 zone is designed to take teams off the arch. The advantage then comes at attacking the rim etc. The Celtics didn't execute, but the game plan adjustment wasn't bad. They need to get more threes up, but they didn't get drive and kick going. Joe doens't make adjusments mid game.. you won 64 games how many times do you really need to make adjustments lol. I think people love to try and blame joe for things that have more to do with players than it does coaching. Both teams made the obvious adjustments. Both teams got the looks they expected and wanted, but Miami hit theirs at a relly high clip where we got terrible games from out guys. Yes KP was an outlier. Other teams have done the same thing and he has played very well against it. Spoe didn't invent a new defense, KP just looked at the refs and wasn't mentally strong enough to play through physicality.

@@Banner18TheTruth Yes. This is what baffles me the most. This isn't football where coaching matters as much as the players, this is the NBA where almost every single series is predictable by who has the best player and who has the best overall talent. Miami didn't do anything the celtics didn't expect. The celtics didn't do anything miami didn't expect. Both teams played in to each others game plans, Miami just executed their individual responsibilities better and played with a higher level of intensity. Celtics got what they deserved - 32 wide open shots? That's not a coach scheme thats lack of closeout effort. Kudos to the heat for knocking down the shots and stepping up. I don't think thats a recipe that will lead them to victory, I think they know that too. When you are the lesser talented team you need the intangibles and the outliers to go in your favor to win. They got that. Can't control the outliers. Some guys will just have good or bad games and thats life. You can control the intangibles.

@@nickgilday8946 I agree with you but BelliChek said that players when games not him even in Football. I agree it comes down to the players and execution. I've played sports all my life and even College and never once have I ever blamed the coach unless he does something so outlandish. It's me against my man. Fans always try to blame Joe but real fans know in the end its on the players. Brad, Ime, Joe when are the excuses gonna end. I agree with you 💯

Indeed, the heat played very well in game two. I wonder why nobody asks why the heat plays so dirty with a minute left to play in the first game trying to take Tatum back out because they did that to other players last year with Yannis and everybody else poking eyes popping ankles, and after their coach says my players a crafty. They make the bad boys of Detroit look like altar boys.
