His father would use to bully him and call him ugly, his father would also make him perform at adult/strip clubs at under the age of 10. So I don't see how he “whooped" him into perfection. Now you see why our generation who lived through this stuff coming out for the first time have little patience for what is passing for talent these days. Michael Jackson was the King of Pop. Although he was an extremely talented artist, singer and dancer; Michael Jackson was robbed of a life. He had no childhood. It is from a movie. It’s not really a kids movie though. The movie is called “Moonwalker” and it starts out with a few cool music video things and then transitions into a proper movie. A lot of this music video is from that movie part. The little girl is called Katie in the movie. Michael basically has to save her from a crime boss dude called “Mr Big”. There’s more to it but I’ll leave it at that in case you wanna watch the movie.

Joe Pesci played Mr. Big in Moonwalker and the young boy dancing like MJ was "Fool" from the movie People under the stairs (Brandon Adams). I remember getting the Moonwalker game for Sega Genesis on my 11th birthday from my grandparents and I was really confused because I didn't know Michael Jackson made videogames. My grandparents must've walked into EB Games and asked the clerk "what popular game are kids playing right now?" and somehow "Michael Jackson's Moonwalker" came out of the clerks mouth. The best parts are the zombies, the Smooth Criminal stage and when MJ turns into a giant silver Gobot in Murder Mode.

Good choreography. Every move and pose of the dancers was choreographed. There is not a beat where an arm, leg, body, head did not have a place to be. Dancers’ bodies are instruments. Just as a trumpet player knows what note to play on what beat, so with dancers. Michael choreographed a bit but brought in choreographers too. Yes, that forward sway was a trick boot. But magical to watch when it first came out and no one knew how it worked. Sure do miss MJ. Grew up with him on TV and radio.

The link above is the censored version, the only one you can still get your hands on nowadays. They censored it as soon as he was gone, in 2009. Looks like they waited until he couldn’t object anymore. There’s one channel only that has a complete uncensored 4k version of it up, all others are censored, even if they say ”full movie”. Here’s the uncensored one: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ecxye6l52tPTZaM.html

Great reaction🎊🎉🪅👏‼️. Michael grew up watching old movies and was heavily influenced by them. He didn't make "videos". He made short films and was so good at it. He referred to them as short films and made brilliant ones that are still as fresh, fun, interesting, and captivating to watch. I never grow tired of watching and listening to our borrowed angel🎶🌟

That iconic move is done entirely practically using special shoes that lock into a bolt onto the floor, the rest is pure leg strength. In addition to the movie, there was an arcade game that was actually pretty fun, you played a vaguely Michael looking gangster, made people dance with you, dance-fought them, and threw your hat that trailed sparkles and boomaranged back to you. So awesome.

Such an amazing song this is. Most dancers in the world would agree the choreography was truly amazing. From the bottom to the top balcony everyone was impeccable. MJ? What can you say? He had so much energy and fire. Love this video. To the younger generation watching this: yes be was a very big deal for a very long time and was part of many people's youth hence why his death was so heartbreaking.

If one artist is responsible for my love for music and dancing, that had me dancing in my room by myself for 100s of hours as a kid and that still gets to me when I hear him now as an adult, it is Michael Jackson. Period. There is no other.

One of my MJ fav' ! "Annie are you ok ?" And the video, whaou, love it ! MJ was inspired in this one by a Fred Astaire sequence of "The Band Wagon". And the famous move was made possible with a very astute trick in the shoes and the floor ;)

Yes!!!! One of my favorite MJ short films from his Moonwalker movie. For the video, they used special effects for the lean, but they had to figure out how they would do it in concerts, so MJ and 2 engineers developed special shoes that allowed him and his dancers to do the lean live. MJ has a patent for those shoes.

Oh man, this is prob my fav MJ song. It gives me goosebumps everytime, especially when at the end of the breakdown he just goes "Annie, are you okay, are you okay Annie?" And then BAM into that dance. Shit, that was too good. He's so friggin smooth man. This is exactly why he's the King, the song isn't just amazing but the dancing too. He changed the game man. Damn. The King 👑

Michael Jackson would watch kids dance, and learn from them and improvise, so when the kid says he taught him everything he knows, this was an homage to the children he learned moves from as he watched them. Beginning with Thriller, he began to work on his videos as though they were movie shorts, and this was signature for many of his videos and also drove up the cost and production of all music videos from that point forward after Thriller in 1983 for all other artists who followed.

The subtleties are even perfect. The choreography is just amazing. You can watch it 100 times and still be in awe of it.

Yeah his MVs from Thriller on were always like mini-movies. That iconic move was achieved by special shoes he wore that had a groove in the heel which he'd slide onto a nail or screw in the floor & then he'd just lean forward.

It's honestly his best music video, in my opinion. I love the homages to Fred Astaire and the films of the late 1940s. There's also so much energy, a great setting, and some super cool avant-garde stuff that was common in films of that era. A lot of his music videos from the Bad and Dangerous eras were great. Another great one is the music video for his song "Leave Me Alone." It's a semi-animated little gem of about average length, but the look and feel is great.

This song brings me back to my elementary school tumbling club (circa late 1980's). At an assembly, we put on a performance -- where the beginners did forward rolls in a line down a tumbing mat, then the intermediates did cartwheels, and finally the advanced group did backflips... all to the tune of "Smooth Criminal". I was in the forward roll group. 🤣

This man changed the face of what Pop music was AND the industry as a whole and influenced so many future artists. No one has ever beat up his album sales record. He was the King, still is and still will be. Yet Rolling Stone Magazine named Harry Styles the new King of Pop ?! A kid that was in only one successful boy band and didn't have ANY influence on the music industry what so ever. The times we're living.

You need to do “this is the end” it shown how creative he was and how he demanded perfection from his dancers and band. He was planning, practicing and getting his final tour together. He passed away before he could put on the show. But what they released was probably the most behind the scenes access any had ever gotten of the mind behind the mega shows.
