We were driving around searching for a property when we decided to transform this overgrown eyesore. We knocked on the door, hoping to speak with the homeowner but unfortunately we didn't get an answer so I decided to knock on the neighbor across the street for more information on the property. This property has sat vacant for around 6 months and was becoming a big eyesore for the neighbors. While cutting the property, I unfortunately walked out into the street in front of a passing car and almost got ran over. I'm thankful he didn't hit me and I'll be learning from this experience moving forward. thank you for watching!

Great job by the two of you. Glad you're ok. You might want to get a few traffic cones to put out when you have to work near the road's edge. My street is heavily traveled these days due to road construction and closures in the area. Right now working anywhere near the street is dangerous. Always having to watch my back. Definitely something to remain aware of in the future. Drivers are not always paying the attention they should. God Bless you both.

@@Jayyslawnobsession Hi,I was just wondering is there a specific reason why the edges are done first instead of mowing first & then mopping up it up later with the edging.Personally myself I do it the other way. Do you do it for aesthetic reasons & you feel it gives off a better look or is it personal choice and habit.Just curious.

That was a nasty storm. I did not have electricity for 4 days. And it was HOT. Great job, your helper mows like I would, mostly in a forward direction. I like that.

You do know mowed grass can spread seed. If this yard hadn't seen son for a while it would fry the grass. The clippings are also used to protect grass from the son.

Wow, what a transformation! Your lovely wife is becoming a real pro on the mower and soon you will have to start flipping a coin to see who gets first dibs on the mower, LOL! I don't think you really wish to become a hood ornament so please watch for vehicles and as Roy stated below, get yourself some traffic cones to mark your parked vehicles and your work area. Great job!

Just friendly advice, be careful when you step off the curb onto the road, look, even if you are just stepping off into the gutter, cars could come over to park. Many times you walked out onto the road with your back to the oncoming traffic lane without looking. That white car came pretty close to you. Great job on the property!

I see that some people do drive like idiots when there's someone doing yardwork next to the street. You would think you were in one of those Asian countries where they don't have licenses and don't know common courtesy on the road. Enough about the problem people. You do excellent work ,the yard and sidewalks and driveway are perfect.

A little tip maybe....park your truck in front of the neighbor's before the one you mow....it slows down the trafic :), great job !

@joseedumont3231... That's a wonderful idea and that's what traffic controllers do in other countries.When doing roadworks and laying down the cones the person is in front of the escorting ute so it forms as a shield between the person & traffic.
