The Blues are the building blocks of Jazz. Do you have it in YOUR playing? What does it mean to play "bluesy"? How do you use the Blues scale that you probably already know? Let's talk about the Blues and explore where it came from, why it sounds the way it does, and how we can use it effectively in our Jazz solos.
This is an 11-minute-long video. You will not understand "the Blues" after watching this, but hopefully you'll be listening for it!

I’m not sure I’ve ever heard blues solo like that (at end beginning and end of the video), but it sounds just incredible with timbre of the double bass💪. Thanks 🙏 for the lesson.

Digging your lessons! Another hack for the major 7 chord is to play the minor pentatonic a half step lower than the root of the chord. For example, with CMaj7 you can play B (the major 7), D (9th), E (3rd), F# (#4 or #11) and A (6th). Be a little careful with bends but you can get bluesy while adding a lydian flavor. It can be cool to alternate between A minor pentatonic (C major pentatonic) and B minor pentatonic for CMaj7.

That’s one of the reason why I never understood the title of the movie “THE BLUES BROTHER” played by one Italian guy and one Jewish guy . Can someone explain this to me ?

I've never heard of the movie, but I think the blues can be felt by anybody at different times of their lives; from the little kid who's pet just died , to an adult who wants to live at a place that feels like home.
