Thanks Horbergus, I think the most important thing is understanding the various aspects of playing jazz that you are studying.. In my lessons, I try to take the mystery out of the process, and make things understandable and attainable. Best to you- Randy

Absolutely beautiful. I'm sure I could hear a bit of Sonny Rollins in there at various times, and I think there was some tenor madness right near the end. I don't think I've ever heard a better rhythm changes solo. I'm a beginner at jazz violin, and working through this will be very useful for me.

Yes, he really is. In person lessons are probably too long of a drive, so if i'll try to get lessons they will probably be online. I'm still figuring out some info first though. For how long did you teach Khiyon?

@BMorales1759 жыл бұрын
can anyone transcribe that altered dominant scale? I'm too lazy.
@zugrath169 жыл бұрын
It's a dominant scale with b9, #9, b5 and #5. But if you want to play good you should focus on transcribing solos. The most common mistake people make in learning jazz is focusing on the scales. They are lazy shortcuts and won't get you very far.
