In this video we'll explore 6 ideas that will allow you to create music, tracks, beats, productions, and songs that sound like the recordings and compositions of artists like Yussef Dayes, Berlioz, Alpha Mist, Kiefer, Domi & JD Beck, Thundercat, Flying Lotus, Louis Cole, FKJ, and others. I'll show you how to get an essential sound to all of these genres and artists, the electric piano, which was present at the beginning of electronic music and has remained. The chords that hip-hop, house, garage, lofi, drum & bass, jungle and other beat genres utilize are jazz harmonies. This harmony is difficult to use without losing the ambient, chill, LoFi aesthetic. I'll show you how to build the chords and chord progressions you need for these chill vibe styles of music. I will demonstrate how to build a chord progression and make it as smooth as possible. We’ll create groove by using syncopation to make the chords more rhythmically interesting and then use a simple technique to weave a bass line and melody through the chords. We’ll listen to how a synthesizer, saxophone, and guitar alter the mood of the song when playing the melody and at the end of the video I will share some great resources such as chord MIDI packs, sample packs, and software instruments/VSTs that you can use to keep exploring these sounds and ideas on your own.

Great video, I really enjoy your channel and how you construct tracks from scratch. I play jazz so am familiar with the musical concepts but somehow struggle to come up with my own progressions. Great work! Loved the sax lead btw!

Enjoying your perspective on thinking about music, concepts like territory, teleportation etc… also I like your “Contraron” character with the raised formant voice 😂😂😂. Also cool showing switching out the lead sounds!! Really enjoyed that.

Thank you so much for this video Jaron. It is so well explained. I will pick something from your shop later to support your work! Btw: I liked the guitar best in the end. Cause I have the feel some "real played" instrument jamming on top of the chords and beat will fit the most. Also a real played Sax would have been saxy 🙂🙃
