OH MY GOD, where have I been ? I had never heard of Cecile until TODAY - I'm 70! There are not enough superlatives to do her justice ❤

She's great - an extraordinary talent and her song writing ability is a very impressive string to her considerable bow. And her pianist - Sullivan Fortner - just does things that lift this to the sublime

She has certainly become one of my favourite jazz singers of today. I cannot even list how many great talents she has, but some include pure beauty, clarity, originality, class, style, musicality...

She's amazing. Such expression, beauty and freedom of voice and the way she uses it. I love the way she dresses and her glasses, also. She also seems kindly and unpretentious. I'm a huge fan. I missed seeing some of the greats in person, Ella Fitzgerald, Better Carter, Carmen McRae. So I'll make sure to get my fill of her concerts to make up for it.

Just amazing. I hear in her voice almost a summation of all the great American female jazz singers (Ella, Sarah, Carmen, so many more). I will be following her music!

At 1:03:30 Oh surprise! Salvant sings Alfonsina y el Mar by Argentines Ariel Ramírez and Félix Luna. Song in tribute to the poet (also Argentine) Alfonsina Storni who left this world on a beach named after her in the city of Mar del Plata on October 25, 1938.
